Games / Blood Bowl: Dark Elves Edition is $10 on Steam this weekend only.

Warhammer Classic combines with American Football gameplay to make one awesome new sport game that should be better than Madden!

Regardless of the stuffty slogan type thing above, the game is still actually a sports game. Warhammer Classic, aka ye olde Warhammer, not to be confused with Warhammer 40k with guns and stuff, its Warhammer classic with swords and magic spells and stuff.

You can create a team of up to 9 races, from regular flexible humans that can do anything (but not anything excellent), to Chaos beasts that utilize brute strength to beat down the opposing team.

Creativity / My Youtube Video Megathread.
« on: September 08, 2010, 04:11:54 PM »
You will find all my YouTube Videos here instead of individual threads.

Ever since I acquired a Core i7-930 2.8 GHz Processor armed with a GTX460, 6GB RAM and 100GB of storage space for recording movies I have been recording games nonstop. Some were great and ended up into final videos on YouTube, some were only funny if you were actually a part of it and got deleted and never saw e-daylight.

The ones that made it are here.

Duke Nukem Speedrushes Left 4 Dead 2

Speedrushing has never been cooler with the music featured. Watch how Duke Nukems fierce presence makes a Smoker let go of him and watch as he survives a head on collision with a car.

Them Hicks Took My Ass!

This is the only thing filmed on my Core 2 Duo build that I still have (for some goofy reason).
I do some test recording of slowmo physics in Blockland while in a Skype Call. I was planning to cut the audio entirely to make a collage video of various physics things but I ended up going "nope, idea sucks balls". I left it to collect e-dust for a few months in my USB HDD and laughed so I put it on YouTube.

tl;dr: old video, old plans failed, saw again later, new plan for laffs.

I play Empire Total War while again in a Skype call for some reason. UnsungMaster is playing TF2 and makes weird noises as he jerks off to Mrs Skies from MAD clan shoves an Equalizer up someones ass.

The Cops Go Swimming After Us.

We're playing GTA4, one friend is running around with six stars, me and another friend are on the barge near the airport shooting at cops or shooting at a third friend flying a helicopter trying to shoot us down. Chaos ensues.

The Stupid Combine - Episode 1: Satan!

A rather insignificant Combine soldier wanders around aimlessly somehow getting across multiple universes/planes of existence/game engines.

We meet the light headed fellow in this first episode when he suddenly encounters a rather daemonic figure. Oh dear.

A placeholder voice of Tourettes Guy was used. Combine voices will be used in upcoming episodes.

Discuss Civilization 4 the revolutionary turn based strategy game etc etc and its expansions.

I built the United Nations a few turns ago and now I have a notification saying "Please Vote for U.N. Election (Secretary-General - Can Propose U.N. Resolutions). You have 73 Votes. (Requires 228 of 572 Total Votes)".

What the hell am I voting for?! forget it I'm voting for myself.

Off Topic / Which Netbook?
« on: September 04, 2010, 11:14:23 PM »
inb4netbookssuck, I'm looking for a laptop for school that isn't the size of a truck and isn't as expensive as one either. Not an Alienware P.O.S. M11x bullstuff or Core i7 Extreme laptop with 19" widescreen.

Netbook 1

Pro: Next Gen Nvidia ION
Con: Atom processor is single core with hyperthreading (1 physical/1 logical core = two cores)

Netbook 2

Pro: Dual core Atom processor with hyperthreading (2 physical/2 logical = four cores)
Con: First gen ION

Both laptops have 2GB RAM and a 250GB HDD (that I may end up replacing with a SSD in the future maybe whenever they become cheap and my warranty is void). Both are said to handle everything quite well, gaming is said to be handled well on these (light gaming, i.e. low TF2 settings or Civ4).

I just don't know whether I should go for better graphics or better CPU.

Off Topic / Irish Spring "Intensify" brand will shock your nuts off
« on: September 01, 2010, 09:26:26 AM »
I got out of the shower roughly 30  minutes ago and I used some new Irish Spring "Intensify" brand or some stuff. It can be found by pictures of green lightning and a slightly transparent bottle.

I used this, like any other hygenic man who uses body wash, to clean my balls. You know that burning feeling you get when you use Listerine mouthwash for the first time in a long time with like a mouthsore or two?

Take that feeling of burning and electricity and apply it to your testicles. Well ok, its not AS bad but it still feels very loving weird. Whats weirder is that the body wash promises you a tingly feeling/sensation but thats the only place I felt that.

I wonder if I jizz green lightning now.

Help / How to talk through dedicated server console?
« on: August 29, 2010, 05:48:38 PM »
I now operate a dedicated server for Blockland, but I can't figure out how to properly talk through the dedi's console to the players without having to join or anything.

Every time I do
Code: [Select]
talk('lol');It appears as:
Console: (random number depending on message)

It's very odd and I don't know why it does this. How do I properly use it?

Off Topic / Shadows kill my GPU.
« on: August 25, 2010, 01:13:22 AM »
I've done a lot of testing in games and I find that shadows particularly on high end games cause lag. GTA4 doesn't let me do Shadows on Very High because of vram limitations, but if I set Textures from Very High to High and Shadows to Very High, it starts lagging around 20-25 FPS.

Crysis also starts going from 50 FPS on medium shadows to 20 FPS on high shadows.

"What is this I don't even" is probably what you're thinking. That's what I'm thinking too, but it seems pretty evident that large shadow work stresses the GPU.

Would buying another GTX460 of the same manufacturer and specification along with this power supply help?

P.S. I have this power supply, along with 6GB Corsair Dominator 1600MHz DDR3, a Core i7-930 2.8 GHz, and a single GTX460 768MB.

Off Topic / Video Editing Software Suggestions.
« on: August 20, 2010, 01:30:38 AM »
So I'm looking into editing FRAPS recorded game videos (.avi) and I am clueless when it comes to video editing.

Windows Movie Maker 2.6 (Windows XP version) is too basic. It can get the job done and I've made a Youtube poop on it before but it's just too basic and boring, and can't do HD properly without loving it up.

Windows Live Movie Maker is just as basic as 2.6, there is NO timeline and no way of properly editing things. It's stuff. Garbage. I don't even want to look at it anymore.

Sony Vegas Pro 9 is complicated as stuff. I will eventually one day figure it out but for now it's a clusterforget of options and stuff that makes my brain hurt because I'm stupid and try to understand huge things up front.

My encounters with video editing software aside, are there any good advanced, but not too advanced, video editors out there? Or should I just stick with Vegas Pro 9 and figure out how the forget to work it?

I'm leaving the floor open overnight, I'm going to bed. I'll check in your replies tomorrow.

General Discussion / Donations?
« on: August 18, 2010, 04:23:36 PM »
I've got a spare $4.42 on my Vanilla Visa Gift Card I used to buy a Borderlands fourpack, so how can I donate it to Badspot? I can't find any donation paypal link anywhere.

Does not go in Help, since it doesn't relate to the program Blockland itself.

I think we should bring in a section for purely introductions of new members.

I think it'd be nice.
