Environment Zones allow you to easily create multiple environments in a single server. For example:

Environment Zones are mostly controlled using simple chat commands.

To get started, type /createEnvZone {Name}. A zone will automatically be created around your player.

That's nice, but it's completely the wrong shape! To fix that, type /editEnvZone {Name}.

You can edit the zone using the standard duplicator controls. Once you're done, type /editEnvZone.

Now let's make it more interesting! Just go inside the zone, and open the environment GUI. It couldn't be easier!

And... that... was it! Now you have two completely different environments inside and outside of the zone.

But wait, there's more! Every client can see a different environment based on which zone they're in... at the same time!
Want to have multiple, different worlds on your server? Or maybe some really dark interiors? No problem!

/createEnvZone {name}|Creates a new named environment zone around your player.
/deleteEnvZone {name}|Deletes the environment zone with that name, if it exists.
/deleteEnvZones|Deletes all environment zones! Be careful with this!
/listEnvZones|Shows you which environment zones currently exist.
/editEnvZone {name}|Creates a resizeable selection box to edit the zone.
/editEnvZone|Removes the resizeable box and applies changes in size.
/setEnvZonePersistent {name}|Sets an environment to be persistent.
Persistent environments don't automatically revert to the global one when
you leave the zone, so you could use these like triggers and similar stuff.
/setEnvZoneLocal {name}|Sets an environment to not be persistent.
/saveEnvZones {file}|Saves the current zones to a file for later use.
/loadEnvZones {file}|Loads a set of environment zones from a file.
/deleteEnvZoneSave {file}|Permanently deletes a zone save file! Be careful!
/listEnvZoneSaves|Shows you a list of save files available to load.
/hideEnvZones|Hides the grey frames shown in the screenshots.
/showEnvZones|Brings back the grey frames.
/envHelp|Shows a list of commands.

Obviously, all of these commands require you to be admin.

This add-on is intended for advanced users only, as it requires a dll to be installed.
It will not work if you skip any of these steps.

1. Install Blockland Loader
   1.1 Download the latest versions of Blockland.exe and BlocklandLoader.dll from this page.

   2.A Set Blockland.exe to be read-only.
   2.B Create .bat files similar to these and use them:
      To launch a client: start blockland.exe ptlaaxobimwroe -noconsole -nosteam
      To launch a server: start blockland.exe ptlaaxobimwroe -dedicated -nosteam

3. Install Selective Ghosting

General Discussion / How do blockland bricks actually connect together?
« on: August 20, 2016, 08:28:54 PM »
I've been wondering this for a while, how are blockland studs supposed to work?

They look like this:

Which clearly suggests this shape:

But for those to fit into the bricks above, a brick would need to look like this from below:

Which it does not:

The bottom texture looks like it would fit this brick, though:

How do you think blockland bricks actually look like?

General Discussion / Which fill brick packs do you use?
« on: April 07, 2016, 07:13:20 AM »
Which of these fill brick packs do you guys use? And why?

Or maybe I'm completely out of the loop here and something better was released after rtb shut down?

Add-Ons / Drop Down Search 1.4 | Now on BL Glass
« on: January 17, 2016, 04:35:38 PM »

Are you also sick of this?

Gone are the days of mindless scrolling in unnecessary long lists!
Just type to filter down the list to rows starting with that you type.

Once you've filtered the list to a manageable level, pick out the correct row.
Just move the mouse cursor away from the drop down list and start scrolling!

Alternatively, hold down ctrl or shift and press up/down arrow keys to move it.

Drop Down Search seemlessly integrates with all guis in the game.
Well, at least it should! Make sure to post everything you think is a bug.

Still don't get it? Here's a video of me using it to make a simple fire hydrant!

The beta test was finished, so this is a stable release.

Modification Help / How to use GuiBitmapCtrl::getPixelColor
« on: June 17, 2015, 01:34:55 PM »
I'm trying to load a screenshot in a bitmap control to read the colors, then send it to a server.

However, getPixelColor only returns garbage. For testing I've created a bitmap control at offset 300 300 with size 1024 768 and loaded the default screenshots/acmcity.jpg.

I've tried these:
getPixelColor(0, 0) -> 1 14 38
getPixelColor(1, 1) -> 12 9 30
getPixelColor(300, 300) -> 255 255 255
getPixelColor(301, 301) -> 255 255 255

The actual color of the top left pixel is 29 13 16.

How does this work?

Help / Blockland window disappearing after alt+tab.
« on: April 02, 2014, 05:18:31 PM »
I'm playing blockland on my laptop now, and sometimes when I use alt+tab to go out of blockland (I use fullscreen obviously) the game window just disappears. The consle thing stays, however.

Anyone know the command to recreate the game window / a way to stop it from going away?

Modification Help / Object name nonsense
« on: March 21, 2014, 07:09:55 AM »
Run this code for a test:
Code: [Select]
%obj = new ScriptObject(object1)
    subObj = new ScriptObject(object2)
        subsubObj = new ScriptObject(object3){};
It's gonna say object3. Why is this?

Add-Ons / Resized Brick Icons!
« on: March 19, 2014, 01:30:09 PM »
Resize the icons in the brick selector!

Did you always hate how only a fixed ammount of brick icons would fit on the screen at one time? Now the brick selector has a slider on the upper right with which you can set how many icons to display in a row. It ranges from 3 to 16, letting you make them stupidly huge...

...or very tiny, so you can see more of them at a time and find your bricks faster. Moving the slider will instantly resize the icons, no restart or similar nonsense is required.

You can download the add-on here.

Add-Ons / Use all prints on all bricks!
« on: March 16, 2014, 04:52:00 PM »
Use all prints on all print bricks!

Did you always hate how certain prints could only go on certain print bricks? Now you can put any print on any brick. The add-on contains both a server-sided and a client-sided part, the server-sided part allowing you to place prints on all bricks and the client-sided part spicing up the gui to fit it. If you have it enabled in your server, and someone without it joins, they will simply see all prints at once. If you join a server that doesn't have it, nothing will happen. However if both you and the server have it, it will sort the prints based on aspect ratio, and let you chose which ones to view.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to do this purely client-sided, as by default the server prevents you from setting prints of the 'wrong' aspect ratio. You can only use it in servers that have it enabled. When you load a save with 'incorrect' prints in a server without the add-on, they will appear blank as by default the loading function prevents you from loading them. You can download the add-on here.

V1 to V2
Fixed undo (ctrl z) not working.
Fixed loading bricks replacing the prints with blanks.
Now opens the 'All Prints' tab by default.

V2 to V2.1
Fixed print tab position getting reset every time the gui is opened
