©ity is a project conceived over the past month or so, mainly by members of Colleagues, but everyone have been allowed to participate. The result is a rather varied ©ity setting, that consists of a lot of different building styles, but with a sort of European feel to it. Either way, we're very pleased with the end result.

It was quite difficult fitting all 83,000 bricks into pictures, even when there's 20 of them, so if I left your build out, or got your name wrong, forgive me. I've given credit where credit was due, and indicated who built what with name tags on the various buildings. The * after some names indicate players that aren't members of Colleagues.

Without further ado:

Modification Help / Line breaks in chat messages?
« on: May 08, 2010, 04:24:33 PM »
Oi.

This is probably an easy one. I want to have a server welcome message consisting of several lines of text, but I cannot figure out how to do line breaks. I've tried different variations of <br>. Any ideas?

General Discussion / Disabling the HUD?
« on: May 01, 2010, 11:50:50 AM »
Greetings.

I remember I once had an addon that allowed me to disable the HUD (chat and paint/brick/tool menus on the screen). This was a really nice feature to have when shooting videos. Does anyone know where to get this sort of contraption?

Thanks in advance.

Modification Help / Joining/leaving sounds?
« on: April 26, 2010, 03:54:43 AM »
Heya.

I was wondering if the sounds when people join and leave your server are available somewhere? If not, is it possible to extract them somehow?

Thanks in advance.

Clan Discussion / Clan [CART]
« on: June 28, 2009, 11:53:25 AM »

WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL CART TOPIC!

WHAT IS CART?

Unlike popular belief, we are not a Mario Kart support group. We go to great efforts to distance ourselves from Mario Kart and its ilk. With that out of the way, we can move on to more pressing matters.

CART was originally founded by Barnabas, Qwerty (now known as Crispus) and I, who, in a moment of friskiness, started debating clan acronyms. All agreeing that the clans of today had immensely unimaginative names – all containing some hackneyed variation of 'brick' or 'block' – we arrived at 'Cars Ain't Racing Tricycles'.

In essence it could mean anything, it's no big deal. What is a big deal however, is the clan, and the people in it. We strive to have happy, positive and creative members – good builders, good people.

WHAT IS A CART?

  • A heavy two-wheeled vehicle, commonly without springs, drawn by mules, oxen, or the like, used for the conveyance of heavy goods.
  • A light two-wheeled vehicle with springs, drawn by a horse or pony.
  • Any small vehicle pushed or pulled by hand.

ROSTER

EVENTS

Every once in a while we'll host a souped up, blinged out entrepreneur  My Cart event. Our own Barnabas is quite a pioneer within vehicular construction, and thus he will supply the contestants with a basic vehicle, which is then to be modified. Winner takes the fame and glory.

Shortly after this topic has been put up, we will start construction of a spectacular street racing circuit. Once this is finished, it is our intention to host weekly races. More info on this will follow.

HOW DO I JOIN?

Our recruitment offices go by the ground rule: “Don't call us, we'll call you.”. Applications are accepted however, if not to encourage new, fresh members to join, then to get a good laugh once in a while. We do enjoy good laughs.

There's a few things you should keep in mind if you're thinking about applying:

  • Desperation - we aren't exactly short of members, so we won't just be recruiting left and right.
  • Gallery - we would like all CART applications posted in the Gallery section of the forums.
  • Colors - using the default paint pack is not a drawback. We use it in our clan builds.

SERVER FACILITIES

We have our very own dedicated clan server, which is hosted by myself.

Add-ons available on our server:

Server status:

The server has been temporarily passworded, to allow the construction of the race track we'll be using for the Sunday Cup races. The server will be open to the public at a later date, when the basics of the track have been built.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: I was banned from a CART server, what do I do?
A: Sit it out. If you were permanently banned, you've probably been bad, and thus you deserve your punishment.

Q: Is this the new MotE?
A: MotE can never be replaced. This is CART.

Still confused? Any other questions you'd like to ask? Send me a PM.

Gallery / Az's Christmas Block House
« on: January 26, 2008, 09:36:21 PM »
I built a house for the MotE Christmas city build we did - first on Barn's server, then on the dedicated - and thought I'd share.

It's a suburb'ish brick house, complete with living room, kitchen, bed room, toilet with a shower, a basement and a garage. It got a bit cramped when I started adding furniture, but I kinda like it. The build is about 6000 bricks.

EDIT: Save posted on the second page.

Comments, constructive criticism and numeric ratings (if you must) are most welcome.

Gallery / MotE Application - Round 2
« on: November 06, 2007, 07:31:33 PM »
Greetings.

Having utterly failed my previous attempt to join MotE, here I am again - this time I've gone medieval and built a castle. Reeks of originality. :P

But yeah, behold, my second 'official' build, third in total; the Duke of Pai's residence:

In case the pictures weren't enough for you (they don't cover the entire build), I also shot a video of a quick tour around the castle. Youtube farked the quality, but it's watchable:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45N77hdYOXc

It should be mentioned that the throne was done by Barnabas, and the tree was kindly donated by Sensei.

You may make use of numeric ratings if you must, but constructive criticism is valued.

Dun.

Gallery / [MotE] Application
« on: October 16, 2007, 03:37:51 PM »
hi

i plz join Motel, hir buld:

Couldn't resist. Sorry. Don't eat me. :P

On a more serious note, I am most interested in joining MotE. Sensei suggested that I should write an application a few days ago, so I did. I noticed that Geek spoke of you lot not recruiting anymore, but he sucks, thus rendering his opinion useless (<3).

Anyways, a bit about myself. I'm Danish. Some might stop reading the rest of the app. right there, but have faith, pillaging and burning is so 2006, 'promise. I bought Blockland last week, so naturally I have quite a high ID - though I'm hoping that you don't judge your applicants solely based on how long they've played the game. I'm no expert in all the functions the game offers, but I'm learning. I also played a bit of RTB a while ago.

So, the compulsory build. I present, the only 'real' build I've done in Retail Blockland so far - besides an upside-down-pyramid-kind-of-thing I worked on, but that's not worth mentioning here (lol I just did) - Azmanor:

The trained eye will see that this is the building that the arrow in the scam-pic above is pointing to.

"Passage" to the second floor.

When things heat up - bail.

You'll be slung in direction of the arrows, and with a bit of luck...

...end up hitting this hole...

...and fall out the bottom of the building and into the abyss - well, onto a rugged carpet floor, but still. Had a few casualties before fall damage was turned off.

There it is. Think it's about 5-6000 bricks all in all.

Do let me know if I forgot something, besides obvious things like sucking up to the admins and not telling you all how much I hate you.

*crosses... hands. no fingers :(*

Ta.
