Games / Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
« on: February 18, 2015, 02:07:34 PM »

Kill rare, exotic creatures, and adorn yourself with their remains!

       A B O U T

Monster Hunter is a game about hunting monsters. Players choose from a number of weapons and engage in boss-scale combat with monsters varying in size from that of a small house, to that of a large mountain. Each battle takes place in a map split into several areas. Player growth is entirely equipment-based. Defeat monsters to gain materials used for making weapons and armor.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (or Monster Hunter 4G) is the latest installment of the popular Monster Hunter series and features significant new gameplay additions, including wall climbing, jumping*, and mounting. Two new weapons (Insect Glaive, Charge Blade) were added, making for a total of 14 playable weapons. Felynes also make a return as hunting partners and come with individual sets of skills and specializations.

Your story begins as you travel to the desert village of Val Habar to become a registered hunter within the guild. Along the way, you save the village from certain destruction and are recruited by a touring caravan to aid in searching for the origin of a peculiar article. Your journey takes you across the continent, into new villages and landscapes, where you help local residents and hunt monsters. All seems well, until you encounter a strange new monster carrying a mysterious virus...

MH4U is the first 3DS Monster Hunter title that features online multiplayer.

MH4U was released in the US on February 13th, 2015, and is currently available for the 3DS only.

Basically, this game is rad as forget. Very deep, supremely rewarding combat, undoubtedly among the best of any game series I've ever played. Taking down monsters makes you feel like a total badass. If you enjoy a challenge and appreciate intense gameplay, Monster Hunter is right up your alley. MH4U in particular is perhaps the biggest console game in the series to date, and there's plenty for veterans and newcomers alike.

About the game: (Shamelessly ripped from the Steam Store Page)
Vector Thrust is a fast-paced action-arcade flight simulator with a unique cel shaded art style for PC. With an extensive variety of game modes like the unpredictable and vicious Quick Action, a customizable Skirmish Mode, and multiple immersive story-based campaigns, Vector Thrust aims to please both players wanting to get straight into the sky and those who love a flexible, diverse and customizable gaming experience.

Vector Thrust gives the player full power over the game to alter any aspect of the game they choose, ranging from simple tweaks to full-blown modifications. Adding user-made skins, changing unit performance and parameters or even complete battle scenarios is easy and open to anyone. With fully fleshed out Map, Mission and Campaign editors, Vector Thrust boasts unlimited expandability and adaptability.

With advanced tactical AI that actively brown townyses and responds to a dynamic battlefield, as well as over 200 fully playable aircraft (through various iterations of over 40 aircraft models) and even more naval and ground units that all work to complete their objectives in different ways, Vector Thrust offers missions that are never played the same way twice.

What it has now:
  • 170+ playable aircraft (and counting - yes, you can pilot the game's aerial superfortress)
  • Enough different weapons to blow up the world six times over

  • Controller support (controllers with multiple "modes" like the Saitek X-52 may have issues)
  • AoA limiter toggle - practitioners of Pugachev's Cobra rejoice!
  • A working campaign system, with two campaigns out of the box (both largely incomplete)
  • Challenges to unlock aircraft (largely incomplete, possible to unlock aircraft through other means)
  • Multiplayer, accessible through an opt-in beta
  • Working Quick Action and Skirmish modes
  • Skirmish mode mutators (stuff like instagib lasers and overdrive)

  • Eggplanes?!?!?!

Stuff planned for release:
  • Bugfixes and optimization
  • Mechanical rebalancing and additions
  • Steam Workshop Support

        Final pricing is 24.99 USD

Personal thoughts:

If you're a fan of game franchises like Ace Combat and HAWX you'll feel right at home. It's still incomplete though and there are some glaring bugs/oddities that need fixing. Other than that, game's pretty forgetin' rad. I've followed Vector Thrust since its early alpha release on Desura and it's come a long way since then.

Should you buy the game early access, be sure to keep up with the Steam discussion board. The dev is pretty chill and he's open to suggestions.

im going to bed now. probably forgot some stuff but w/e

Faces, Decals, Prints / NoZoner's Stuff
« on: January 31, 2013, 01:49:43 AM »
Stuff!

Hazard signs! Warn your friends! Warn your enemies! Warn your frenemies! Warn everyone! Just not in Europe. Made from scratch in Inkscape. Comes with 10 prints in total.

Ninja II: Decal / Face

I decided to try my hand at remaking the old ninja decals with newfangled vector magic. Your mileage will vary. Also made in Inkscape, with a few touch-ups in Paint.NET

Facial hair. I wonder if Ephi still remembers this.

That's all for now! Share your thoughts and constructive criticism below!
... please? :(

Requests are also welcome.

As of today,

  • I can now legally view researchographic materials in the United States.
  • it the 5 year anniversary of my Blockland purchase.
  • Freethought Day is observed.
  • Christopher Columbus' discovery of America is observed in certain countries (according to my parents, he is my namesake)

So now I ask you:
What cool stuff happens on YOUR birthday?

Off Topic / Strange dream trends thread -- "Mary Jane haunts my dreams"
« on: September 26, 2012, 03:12:27 AM »
So last night I had a dream where I was given possession of weed. That makes this the second dream in a row where I've had something occur that was related to marijuana. Although I've been thinking a lot about marijuana's legal status recently, I still feel that having dreams like this is strange. I've never done any recreational drugs in my life, although I'm considering a friend's offer to try some pot when he comes home for the holidays.

Breakdown of marijuana related dream bits:

1st dream: An old acquaintance that used to attend my high school blows weed smoke into my face. Instead of being disgusted, I hug him for openly displaying his status as a pot smoker.

2nd dream: A close friend (the same one that offered) comes home for the holiday and visits me in school. He passes me some drug drink extract thing (THC + LSD + alcohol combination from what I remember) and a joint. I later receive a bowl of cannabis in front of my teacher, but instead of getting punished she dismisses it, and even offers to help me hide it in exchange for helping her with something else. She gives me an airtight jar, but as I start pouring the cannabis in, my mother shows up on the scene. However, even she lets me off the hook and tells me it's okay if I do it, just as long as I'm responsible about it.

Discuss / share your recent dream trends

« on: October 16, 2009, 06:49:20 PM »
Yay, now I can scan stuff. I now present two drawings I did in art class. I may add more in the future.

You better like this, it took a whole 20 minutes to draw each bird.

I'm not too satisfied with this one.

Give me constructive criticism please :s

Anyone going to watch this? It looks like it's going to be a good fight.

Edit: Boxing is fake? Last time I checked it wasn't fake so much there are people who do it solely for the money.

Suggestions & Requests / Gravity Boots

Similar to the Gravity Jeep, except the boots will be items. Maybe modify the ski script to give it gravity and use the walking animations.

Base-9 is a fortification built inside a rock in response to the Zombie Outbreak. It's small size and location offers an advantage; It is easy to defend against hoards of zombies.

I rarely build and whatever I would start on I'd normally put on hiatus (regardless of the size), so this is a small change for me. Heh, change we can believe in.

Help / Blockland turns into a slideshow when inside a flying vehicle
« on: November 30, 2008, 09:45:59 PM »
Every time I enter a flying vehicle, the framerate drops to 1-2 FPS. I recently reformatted my hard drive and got the newest drivers for my lame ATI X300 SE and put in the two lines of code that prevents polygons from shooting across the screen.

Games / Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
« on: November 08, 2008, 12:29:29 AM »
Is excellent. I love the style of the game. My only gripe is the graphics and the combat system, but that can be fixed with a few mods.

I currently have a level 3 Argonian equipped with a Silver Shardslayer. I have another two swords in my inventory: Iron Claymore & Sword of White Woe.
