For those of you who aren't familiar with LEGO Dimensions, it is The LEGO Group's (and Warner Brothers') take on Skylanders.

You can see Gremlins, Sonic the Hedgehog, Teen Titans Go and a few others in their latest trailer.

Here are a few images courtesy of Brickset:

Other franchises include:
The Goonies
E.T.
Knight Rider
The Powerpuff Girls
Beetlejuice
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (Harry Potter prequel)

Franchise overload or what?

MPreg = Male Pregnancy

The core idea doesn't really bother me, and it can be good in a sci-fi series when done right, but the majority of MPreg artwork makes me cringe.

Five Nights with Trevor, by Rokatinsky

A round of applause for the artist! SFM really shines here! Just look at the lighting!

Care to share other such refreshing examples of artwork?

For me:

The Superior Alien Race that looks like Humans
Earth is home to a vast number of species. Only one of them looks like Homo Sapiens.
Now, imagine a species that looks completely identical to Homo Sapiens has evolved on an alien planet.
Imagine that they can do impossible things, like fly without wings or technology.
That just doesn't sound plausible or imaginative to me.

Being Born Special and having Daddy Issues
Hero never knew who his daddy was, until he learned that his daddy was an alien/demon/mutant who ditched his mommy before his birth!
Now Hero must learn to use his powers and reunite with his daddy, because unlike his mommy, his daddy defines him as a person.

Traveling to the Past
Pros:
  • Nostalgia
  • Chance to fix mistakes
  • History class pays off
Cons:
  • You might end up killing yourself, a parent, a grandparent or an ancestor
  • Any changes you make might create a separate timeline instead of rewriting your history
  • Which is good if you killed your grandfather but still
  • You might not have learned enough about the century you traveled to
Traveling to the Future
Pros:
  • That game you've been waiting for is finally out
  • The ____________ has finally been invented
  • Anything you brought with you is now a rare artifact
  • Questions like "Are we alone in the universe?" and "What is consciousness?" might've been answered
Cons:
  • The game you've been waiting for might suck or be an expensive antique
  • Cultural norms have changed
  • As it turns out the demographic you hate has taken over your country
  • As it turns out advanced A.I. isn't very friendly
  • As it turns out Humans have evolved and the world sees you as an animal
  • As it turns out E.T. isn't very friendly
  • As it turns out Earth is now uninhabitable
Staying in the present
Pros:
  • The world around you is familiar.
Cons:
  • Boring.

Off Topic / Twas the Night before Blockmas
« on: December 21, 2014, 11:33:41 AM »
Twas the night before Blockmas, when all through the shed;
Not a player was stirring, not even a Blockhead;
Stockings had been built by chimneys with care
In hopes that Eric Hartman soon would be there;

The noobs were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Destructo-Wands danced in their heads;
And my friend in her helmet, and I in my cap,
Had just finished this big wintery map,

When on my server there arose a commotion,
I minimized my browser with one swift motion;
Away to my build I flew on my jets,
Speeding towards it with no frets;

A recent addition to my server was snow
I used special paint to make the bricks glow,
Then, my wondering eyes were surprised,
By Badspot himself, and several other guys

That's what I have so far, let's refine it and finish it together!
Here is an online copy of the original book.

Off Topic / Mordecai or Rigby?
« on: September 27, 2014, 05:19:54 PM »
(This topic assumes you have seen at least one episode of The Regular Show)

For unspecified reasons, you have to work at The Park for a day. Because of more unspecified reasons, you have to work with either Mordecai or Rigby, but not both or neither. For the most part, you will be doing manual labor, ranging from changing lightbulbs to mowing fields. Occasionally, you will be given a more tedious task, such as ridding the computer of a virus or retrieving a prized possession from the plumbing.
If you are unlucky/lucky enough, you may have an improvisational battle with a peculiar group of ne'er-do-wells.

Who do you choose to work with, and why?

I would choose to work with Mordecai for a day.
He doesn't throw caution to the wind, and understands the importance of getting the job done. Also, he seems like a pretty chill guy.

Help / Glitch: Using tools resets playertype
« on: March 06, 2013, 05:05:38 PM »
Whenever I use an evented brick to change my playertype, then subsequently open my tools inventory, my playertype changes back to the default (either Standard Player or the playertype of the minigame I'm in).

I checked to see if pressing Q was part of the problem, but this happens even when using a different button for the tools inventory.

So yeah, I'm in a pickle because the build I'm currently working on involves class-based gameplay.
