Creativity / Phevnil does an musics? (now with less ear rape!)
« on: June 02, 2009, 07:34:07 PM »
Phevnil = me just to clear up any confusion.
Is not posible (but some how it is)! Sugestions? Hate? Legal batlles over the pain I just put you through in listening to that? You decide! read them description friends for more information.
What is this? Could it be? Wait.... no.... it still sucks. At least it isn't complete ear rape like the last one (which no longer exsits but may come back in an improved form some day soon).

Games / Defcon on the DS.
« on: April 20, 2009, 04:29:43 PM »
http://forums.introversion.co.uk/defcon/introversion/viewtopic.php?t=2006

Not many people hear have probably played this game but it is rather worth it. Anyway, it is rather old now but it is being re-released on the DS some time this year. It's going to be the first new DS game I have bothered to buy in a while (I rarely use my DS actually) even though I already own it on the computer so that shows how good I consider it. I just wanted to start a topic about this so that others could experience it's glory once it come out.

For all of you who don't know what Defcon is you can go google it. Include the words introversion and mass genocidal thermonuclear war game to help narrow the search.

Creativity / The new and improved 3D model topic!
« on: February 27, 2009, 05:08:51 PM »
Due to the long life, relative success and unfortunate death of the previous topic (found here: http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=30733.msg887002#msg887002) I have decided to make a new, less newbish, and generally better topic (this time I hope no one posts stolen models and we don't become a argument thread like last time)! Same rules apply from the last topic (you have to have made the model to post it, only rate/criticize if the creator asks for it, be polite, etc. etc.).

Now for a quick recap of some of our better moments in the old (and now obsolete thread)!
My beta Nintendo zapper:

The Geek's radar and smexy raft render:

Kaje's mech:

My WIP jetpack vehicle, phys gun, shank, and scout:

Muffinmix's mech:

Darkstars fighter plane(?):

Wow! Looking back on it I never really finished any thing I started making! Any ways if any of the original authors have any problems with any of these reposts just tell me and I’ll get rid of it.

Games / Tech (game) fight! (curently: gaming dual core or single core)
« on: December 25, 2008, 01:14:46 PM »
Welcome to (game) tech fights! In this thread we will pick our sides and bicker about insignificant technical opinions (on games). There will also be a poll for people who don't know enogh to post with out looking stupid but still want to state an opinion. The topic of the fight will change once we have a winer or a more interesting topic. Please state your side at the start of your post and try not to flip flop your opinion part way through.

Edit: I put this in the wrong section so this is now game oreiented tech fights.

The current contestants are single core processors VS dual core (and if you really care quad core) in relation to gaming oriented computers. To get this ball rolling I'll give a point or two for each sides.

Dual core:
-has twice the cores of a single core
-better multi tasking
-while inferior on games with out multi threading it is predicted (by the people making the games mind you) that all games coming out in the near future will start to move from single core to multi core systems

Single core:
-works better with most games already released
-older, more tested technology
-costs less

Games / Day of Defeat source
« on: November 15, 2008, 09:40:05 AM »
Any one have this game? I know it's a bit old now but I was bored and found it on steam and wondered if it was fun. If any one thinks it is good I may get it I just wanted to know what people thought of it before I decided to buy it or not.

Games / Worms (the series)
« on: November 06, 2008, 05:19:10 PM »
Worms 2
Worms 3D
Worms open warfare2 (DS)
Worms forts
Worms mayhem

Those are my personal favorites out of the worms series. They needed more online multyplayer (mayhem's is broken and open warfare's is really slow) but they were still great games. If any one has Worms open warfare on the DS and a wifi connection we should play some time. Any ways if any one has played these talk about the good times here.

Off Topic / Robert Jordan
« on: November 03, 2008, 08:32:11 PM »
I pity the soul of any one who has read one of his books. My older brother and father both started reading his 'Wheel Of Time' series and I decided I had nothing better to do and decided to follow in suit and read them too. It killed my inner child at the age of ten (if I had known how bad it would be I wouldn't have read it till I was at least thirty-eight). Not only does he draw every thing out to the point were a one thousand page book covers half a week he had the gal to write thirteen (I actually for got how many but I think that was it) books, each longer and more tedious than the last. Of course they started off OK so you feel compelled to stick it through to the end. Needless to say I'm glad he died before he could finish the series.

If any one else has had the misfortune to have been emotionally scared by this evil evil man lease feel free to rant about him here (that is if any one else has even heard of him).

If you haven’t heard of him ignore all that and go read his books!

Games / The old game rememberance topic!
« on: October 21, 2008, 07:16:21 AM »
The game we are remembering (for this week or intill I think of another) is TankTics! It's so old and unnoticed it barly has a wiki article! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanktics_(1999)
If you have played the game good for you, if you haven't you will die an unhappy person. I curently have the disk siting in fron't of my computer right now.

Games / Multiwinia.
« on: October 10, 2008, 09:12:59 PM »
I know I already made a topic about this but it was just me asking if any one has bought it and how fun it was. Any ways it died after about five posts so I am makeing this topic to replace it. So I just got the game today. It is really fun I sugest you at least download the demo off steam or at http://www.introversion.co.uk/multiwinia/downloads/ the demo is great and all but you are limited to about six levels and only to game modes with no multiplayer. This game is very fun theres only one problem: no one has it D8. There are hardly more than six games on the internet at once. Any ways I will edit this post in the morning with a few screen shots or somethin (I have to go to bed right now so I'm cuting my post short).

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=YFSt_7zfvBQ This is my first match after buying the game. Sorry about the low quality of the pictures and the s\audio but it wouldn't save right with any thing elss.

Off Topic / Broken head set r broken
« on: September 21, 2008, 11:01:48 AM »
Any one know any thing about a Labtec LVA-8450 model head set? I have one here in front of me and although the head set part works the mic won't. I know I probably won't get a helpfull answer but I'm just asking if any one knows what may be causeing this and if it is a common thing I have to update a driver for or some such crap.

Games / Multiwinia.
« on: September 20, 2008, 09:03:16 PM »
I would love to tell you how awsome this game is but frankly, I don't know my self. I never got the first (despite the fact I tried ever so hard) and now there is a multiplayer version avaliable on steam. I have played the demo's of both and I think that I liked the first better. So if you have this please share if the game is worth it.

Games / Abe/Oddworld topic.
« on: September 07, 2008, 01:14:59 PM »
For the heck of it (and cause I love the game).

On a side note I only have Abe's exoddus (on a CD) but now that they are on Steam not only can I get the first and a back up of the second but you too can enjoy the awsomeness that is mind controll and freindly slaughter, of course if you want the good end with "twice ze flavour" you have to actually work for it and save your chums. I sugest makeing two saves every time you save then playing threw once to slaughter and once to save.

Any way if you have been lucky enough to play these games posted you favorite parts here.

Off Topic / Name change.
« on: September 01, 2008, 02:25:55 PM »
Well it has finally happened. I have been forced into changeing my name. Not only is 'Lt' becoming a common thing to put in front of your name but there are other people who now use the names based of the word 'chub' that and some paintball player in Seatle also uses that name and even though I think I have used it longer, but his name will be more wide spread then mine and no one will beleive me. So I am changing my ingame name to 'Phenvnil' and if your thinking "what?" I couldn't think of any thing so I used the old combine real life names trick. If you want you can attempt to unfuse it but that will be nye on imposible but if you guess I will tell you if your wrong (if your right I will ignore you).

TL;DR version: My in game name is now 'Phenvnil' on blockland and all other games I may just so hapen to play.

Off Topic / TF2 sprite comic
« on: August 19, 2008, 10:33:15 PM »
Ya I know this has already been done but I didn't know that when I started and I did not want to throw at all the sprite sheets I had made (at the time the scout and spy was done and the engi and demoman were being worked on) but learning it had been done made me discouraged enough I stoped working on it till just now. So useing the demoman, scout, and spie I threw together something just to show what I will eventually start makeing.

On a side note I hope at least one person gets this joke....
