Off Topic / Rughugger's Girl, Growing Up!
« on: May 16, 2014, 10:04:30 AM »
Hello people,

I realized I hadn't updated my thread in quite a while and was going to make a post only to find out it was too old to continue. Bummer, I know you all miss those regular updates.

Things were rough those few months after my brother passed and I fell out of the forums to try and get a higher paying job. It was a lengthy process, but things are more settled down now. I will include a link to the old thread in case there's backstory needed.

http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=160448.0

Lindsay is almost 3 (July 5th) and is extremely smart. Sure, she's at the whiny state, but I think that's primarily because the other kid at her day care is and she's picked up on that. It's manageable, but I can't wait til that phase is over. She is, however, potty trained and off her pacifier after a weekend of work. So proud of her!

She is also a huge fan of 90s cartoon network shows like Chowder, and Samurai Jack, to name a few.  Yes, we raise her well. lol

I am also getting married June 28th, so I am extremely excited for that.

I do have a new job working for United Health Care and it pays $5 more per hour than my last back breaking job did. Although I do miss the 3 day weekends and the time to listen to music and audio books.

In any case, here is a recent picture of Lindsay to see how much she has grown since last I had the time to update her thread.

Ship to ship combat, Hand to hand combat, Fully customizable ships, crews, and character creation. I'm anxious to buy this and play it. Discuss n junk.

For those who didn't know (and who would rightly deprive themselves of knowing?) Star Trek Online will go Free to Play for general users on the 17th of this month.

The awesome thing is that if you had a previous subscription for one month at any time, you have that Free to Play access now!

So the real question is, Who plans on showing up on the 17th?

EDIT: Here's a basic list of in game names to look up once you've joined. I'll also be posting this on the yahoo forums group as well. If I copied these wrong or they have changed, let me know.

Star Trek is a multimedia powerhouse that not only entertains, but can also illicit much thought about personal conflict or comment on social events of the time. This genre also teaches acceptance and the value of a plethora of ideas. We welcome everyone, even scrubs left out by the snooty Star Wars Page. (Yes, you too are welcome here Captain Blue) I know I borrowed his format for my thread, but it was well organized, so I felt it would help with the friendly rival thread.

So, it's ten days til it comes out. Who's excited for the next chapter?

I recently played the demo on my laptop and was impressed with the improved mechanics and different changes to the leveling and conversation options. I just hope that the whole pause for cinematic storytelling won't occupy the majority of the game.

Opinions?

It's official, I am now a fully qualified karaoke D.J. Tonight was the first night on the payroll and second night total working it and it feels as if I've been working it for years, I'm that much of a quick study...not like it's really difficult to do in the first place, but hell, it's quite fun!

Off Topic / Rughugger's Hooker Drama
« on: May 22, 2010, 03:09:20 AM »
Kind of a spinoff to Ladios' threads of a similar name, but this story is just too good (pathetic) to not tell people about.

It's Friday, on the weekend I don't work, so naturally it's Karaoke night, which I love. And I'm doing fine, chilling with my friend the Juicy Melon and this girl approaches me. Attractive, I'd give her a 7. And just starts talking to me and asking about me and all that fun get to know you questions. We talk about interests, hobbies, things that we enjoy doing and finally she asks me if I sing at these things. I told her that I love to, it's my stress relief. So she's skeptical that I'm any good so I go up and sing Paralyzer by Finger Eleven which kept her talking to me for a little longer. Slightly impressed and all, she asks to do some duo songs with me in which I pick some out and we sing. We dance, we schmooze, and the whole time, I'm thinking "Man I'm really on my game tonight, I might get a number if I keep it up."

This is where the night goes down hill. As she's off in the bathroom, another friend who frequents the bar approaches me and asks, "Do you realize, she's a hooker?" Immediately in my head I thought, "forget, should have known better." So I spent the rest of my time there being a complete richard to her and so she tries to punish me by talking to and hitting on other guys, including my friend. Amusing little mynx that she was, she didn't realize I let my friend in on it and we both ended up burning her so bad that she was crying. Then, we left the bar and considered it a lesson learned.

Just when I thought I worked hard enough on talking to women, now I'll never know how well I'd do if it was any normal girl. Back to the drawing board and those feelings of rejection and insecurity return. But I shouldn't feel this way as I was the one who rejected her which is a surprise because usually I'm an ass-kissing yes-man to women I find attractive. So bonus for standing up for myself.

Discuss women who led you for a ride. (they don't have to be hookers.)
