Modification Help / Re: Official Coding Resources Thread (10/28/2013)

Attribute any work here to Mr. Doom (5621) not Mr_Doom.

My ancient implementations of isInteger & isFloat
[Resource] Some old isInt/isFloat support functions.

A simple doubly linked list:
Alpha_LinkedList

I want to review the code, too, if that's ok.

Would love to do that myself too

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Blockland Hats Mod Download?
« on: November 08, 2013, 02:14:13 PM »
People actually still want that old code? I still have my original versions & the "improved" versions buried in my archives.

I suppose I could rewrite it (as it was an awful thing written in one night anyways) and release it. Also if Pandan is still interested, he could make some new hats for it.

What kind of features would you guys like to see in it?

Off Topic / Re: Why do I hate coders???

Wow...

You know I remember back when I started with Blockland, I had written code elsewhere in other languages but never had a formal class on the subject.
The little things I did I was all high & mighty about thinking they were amazing! But as I look back at my older code, I think "what? no, I couldn't of possibly written this garbage" and "what the heck does this function do, my documentation just says 'it does not work'".

As said earlier in this thread, it's completely just the immaturity of code monkeys in this community, it's also sad to see it hasn't changed much if at all over the years.

But it isn't the fault of the coders alone, I left this community a couple of years ago because I received only crap and hate for whatever I did (granted my methods weren't always the nicest, but still), and because it generally got boring. If people are always giving you crap, you're probably not going to act as the nicest person back to them, especially when you're still a kid and you have not learned how to handle such people (although some will never learn).
This isn't something that's going to happen but if people were more constructive and helped coders learn & grow, we'd see a lot less of the drama and crap we see today.
