Help / SteamAPI failing to initialize

So for about a week or so my game has shown "Steam Unavailable" at the bottom of the main menu. When trying to join a server it gives me an error "Non-hex Steam Ticket", haven't tried hosting a server yet though. I've used Blockland on Steam ever since it got greenlit and I've never had this issue before.
Clicking Retry next to the Steam Unavailable error puts "Initializing steamAPI... | SteamAPI Init | SteamAPI initialization failed." into the console.
I've tried restarting Steam, reinstalling the game, and even making sure that steam_api.dll and steam_appid.txt were in the game folder (and that 250340 was in steam_appid.txt).
I'm completely out of ideas on what the fix to this issue is. Any help is appreciated.

Did you try restarting steam?

Tried that just now, didn't do anything. I even tried reinstalling Blockland, not sure if that would've done anything though.

Consider that Tuesdays are Steam maintenance days, so if you catch the servers in downtime you won't be able to authenticate.

It wasn't authenticating yesterday either, so it can't be the maintenance.

do you have steam open and are you logged in?

I always have Steam open and I'm always logged in.

I'm having problems with authenticating. When I start Blockland it shows "Steam Unavailable" at the bottom, and clicking Retry doesn't do anything.
When I try joining a server I get an error: "ERROR: Non-hex Steam Ticket"

It seems pretty good, but you might want to get a better processor if you can.

Character Name: Marshall Ferreira

Character Age: 20

Gender: Male

Future Ambitions: Marshall desires to join the Republic to help out, utilizing his sharpshooting skills.

Skills: Sharpshooting (initially with small, light-weight rifles), driving (delivery/cargo vehicles), and a very bleak skill in knifing.

Appearance: Has very silky, and smooth brown hair, that Marshall cares too much for, and wears a green jacket and is accompanied with a white backpack.

Biography/Backstory:

   Marshall was born in June 23rd, 1994, and had an unfortunate, uneventful childhood, as he lived in the rough side of town, a trailer park. Him and his family, Joseph and Kelly Ferreira (parents), lived very poorly, until the most devastating moment in Marshall's life. On May 4th, 2005, Marshall's parents died in a car crash, sending Marshall to a foster home. Although he sometimes can keep his emotions out of sight to this day, he continuously falls into a state of depression, often forgetting about the situation, then subtly calms down.

   He then found the group named Republic, who needed people with a past that had military involved. Marshall was in the military for 1 year in 2000, then quit the force when his partner, Christian Santiago, got shot while on the battlefield. So he's now set in the direction to hopefully, one day, join the Republic, and continue on.
