And just one last question, along with a bump.

Could it be the CPU, or does that have nothing to do with this?

by cords and port i assume you knew i meant loose ports or damaged cord.
you just listed what you had and that it was plugged in, not really describing a non problem.

Yes, because alongside the HDMI that i had used for this setup, i found an old computer cord that i had, and used it instead, and the artifacts are still there. So i dont think it's the port or the cord.

yeah but i'm certain the PSU isn't the problem here and it's with the GPU itself. either it being damaged or the drivers being faulty.

I probably needed more power anyways...

But It's ok, as long as i can get this fixed, i'll be happy

Do you guys think that should fix it?

this usually happens when you overclock your GPU too much or the slot of your GPU is filled with crap/damaged.

but this happens after a while with the computer on, if the slot was damaged, wouldnt the artifacts appear right when i turn the comp on?

also, i ordered this power supply http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=17-371-045&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Page=5#scrollFullInfo

because im low on cash right now, and it seemed good, as i know i wont be doing any super heavy crCIA gaming, just a few source games and MMOs, and then i can upgrade it when im out of college.

This was the video card i had ordered to replace the current one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150580

i would first blame the drivers.

then i would blame the cord or ports the cord is in.

THEN i would blame the gpu

Fixed drivers, and the HDMI on both ends, so i guess it's the GPU.

Well, i already ordered a new GPU, so if that doesnt end up fixing it, i am going to contact newegg and see what they'll do for me.

But on the chance that they do still appear, would that narrow the problem down to something?

so replace the graphics card first, and see if it fixes it?

Do you have your graphics card set to overclock mode? If you do then change it to a lower setting.

It's as underclocked as i can make it, still happens

Search Google for people who have had similar issues with their graphics card.
Already have, seems nobody has my exact issue.

there is absolutely no way a psu can do that
pretty much all artifacts on-screen are caused by the gpu

I want to say it's the PSU because the card may not be getting enough power.... but if that were the case, wouldnt the artifacts appear right off the bat instead of 5 or so hours into running?

It might be because your graphics card is probally too hot.
The GPU isn't overheating, because it's running at a nice 50 C when i looked, while the artifacts are on the screen.
