AoT General / I can't get this game working >:(
« on: August 09, 2006, 03:20:20 PM »
i have a GeForce 6200 video card with 128 on board memory, 300-something ram, and a 1.71ghz processor (plz don't laugh). My video card is 100% OpenGL 2.0 compatible, but when i try to run AoT it crashes, and in the console.log it swears on its life that it can't find an open GL display device. I already tried updating my drivers, I have the latest ones. Does anyone have any idea whyb AoT isn't detecting my display device? and preferably a way to solve the problem? Thanks in advance.

General Discussion / TBM has no viruses...
« on: July 24, 2006, 10:47:27 PM »
I did three scans of blockland and tbm, with 2 different top-of-the-line anti-virus programs, Norton AV 2006 and McAfe. Both scans showed no viruses, nor any trace of as much as a "potentially unwanted program". I will post the results here with a graph to interperate the data.
EDIT: gigantor images removed. - Badspot

There may be "exploits" but they can't do anything to your computer outside of tbm. otherwise, they would have been detected. Now, i haved made some rather bogus claims against badspot, and i apologize, again, for that. however i do believe (and you can run these scans yourself) that the current version of tbm does not contain any harmful files. If anyone wishes to challenge me, go right ahead and submit your proof

the lego digital designer does feature better graphix and working trains, but you can't move bricks with the keyboard, so i don't use it.

rtb cannot move rotate copy paste or delete a GROUP of bricks at one time. i have played it. Also, the tbm crew won't give their base code to just anyone. They'll distribute it only to people they trust. If you play tbm for a while, post some builds, etc. and tell them why you want the cs files, they'll give them to you. I've seen it happen.

As for the new engine it won't  :panda: ing matter if Blockland is copyrighted because tbm will not be blockland. it will be The Building Game. totally different torque game. If you think the community are  :nes: s, you would be correct in a sense, but the only reason they act that way is if you're a N00b. Belive me, i've gotten my share of flamming. eventually I improved.

Actually, it has the least limits. if you want to mod it you only have to ask and they will send you the cs files. as for having no limits, i don't recall any other mod having the ability to move, rotate, copy, paste, delete, and save groups of bricks on dedicated servers, or on any server not host by the player doing the saving, copying, etc. also, does any other mod feature interchangeable skins, including BL-retail skins and ones you can make yourself? and when tbm is on IT'S OWN ENGINE there will be even more features. Now, you were saying something about tbm being limited?

I'm sorry if anyone is offended by tbm posts

i stand corrected. however there are many more screenshots that link "retail" with tbm. (as DTM pointed out).

i am aware that the map depicted in the following pics was realesed publicly, I am unfortunatly unaware of the times of its public release, and when the retail screenshots were taken (not post)

the handicap is the one whom can't see that the screens for "retail" have skies and levels that look EXACTLY like those found in tbm. the first screenshot shows one of badspot's "retail" pics. the second is a sky texture from tbm2. seeing how retail as not been released yet, the sky texture had to have been made originally in tbm. now, similarities include:
1. the white line on the horizon
2. stars in sky
3. WATER on bottom
4. the two pics have the same color scale (meaning the shade of blue in one is the same as a shade of blue in the other)
it does look like badspot added clouds and a moon (there are multible ways to do this, including ms paint)

There is just 1 minor problem, the ship was built in RTB and i now use TBM. if anyone has a way to convert an rtb persistance into a tbm save, you can do that to the persistance (if i ever find it), and the movie will be saved!

there is no retail. the screenshots you have seen are from tbm. if you don't believe me, try tbm. you don't even have to run it just look in the sky folder. a lot of the skies from this "retail" look exactly like ones from tbm. the following screenshots, are dead givaways:
