Why do we even have colorsets? It should be easily possible to allow any color on a brick.

I think it's due to network limitations.
It's faster to send a number from 1-64 than a colour code.

This function is called when any player joins, it's where the server checks if the client is in the admin list

Whenever I run Blockland at max. shaders, Task manager shows the CPU usage of BL as 25-26%, and my Athlon has 4 cores, so that means it's maxing out a core.
