Thats the lowest its gonna get for now. If you've played Arma 2 you prob wont need the whole, "its a really hard to get into but fun game" speech but honestly, one of my favorite games of all time. If you are patient and go into it open minded then im sure you will love it.
It definitely has its problems though and I suggest to learn how to get mods for it when you get the game because most flawed aspects of the games can be improved by mods (i.e. Sound, Visuals, Ai+Reactions to situations and fire ect, Camera, and not to mention the insane amount of weapons and vehicle mods)

People are planning out the teams. Every team is getting its own day to craft badges and what not so today was green teams turn. Then tomorrow will be another teams turn and so on.

Similar to this but still shows how kick ass this is. Only problem is yeah games you can go prone in would kinda eliminate that control all together unless it was binded to another button.
Edit: also on a lot of these it seems the in-game gun doesn't really respond to the position of the model gun you hold. It would be cool to see a gun that actually does represent the position you have it in inside the game. Then everything would be complete.

You aren't the only one friend. Ive been around for a long time but as Jubel said, its those who pursue to contribute to the community more become more well known and have an affect. I personally choose to lurk more than post and don't try to do as much with blockland and the forums as others would while others post a ton, maybe make or attempt to make addons and start lots of topics. Hense why despite being around since 2009, there are some who will be more well known in a month or so.
