Show them a photo of a cat I took earlier in the day. If they're not ecstatic, I'm wasting my time

wow, that tattoo is fantastic.
Thanks!

i have a salt water pool i like to get into at random times
its also heated and usually at a warm 91 degrees soooooo

i plan on getting it when i have a huge pool/beach break
Perfect time to get piercings. Salt water (and hot water) helps their healing process hugely. Just do it. Even if you don't want any. Even a Prince Albert will do.
Also, when I read 91 degrees I was thinking in Celsius and how that sounds a lot more like being brought to boil rather than a pleasurable experience... It took me a minute to figure out it was Fahrenheit (at least, I sure hope it is)

Looks alright to me. At least it's not something cliche like a dragon or Chinese symbols.
Made sure to stay away from cliches and even go so far as to have it completely designed by a friend too. I can understand a dragon or a Chinese symbol perhaps if you were Chinese, but when people that know nothing about a culture get something from it, I think it's rather silly. I can also understand if you had a genuine understanding and interest in the culture, but people with just randomly chosen things aggravate me.

i was going to get my first a few weeks ago but then pool/beach season started and yeah

i love it though
i believe i remember you posting the actual artwork for it a while back

congratulations
As for the water thing, I wasn't too bothered, I normally go surfing around August time and not really any other time in the year, it'll be healed by then. I don't often swim other than for that.

And thanks! It did change slightly from that original artwork, mainly the placement of rose, but the artist did a damn good job:D

That's cool. I wanna get a tattoo eventually but probably something small
Definitely a good way to start. I think if I had the choice again I would have done something smaller for my first, not because of the pain, but because of getting used to aftercare effort. (I don't regret this though, and getting it I found a pretty fun experience)

Cool Tattoo, though the stem on the rose looks a little interestingly odd to me.
The stem is supposed to be a tad surreal, so I'm glad you saw it that way too :)
I don't think the photo shows it properly, but the stem actually changes colour, being a very dark blue/black at the base of the treble clef, and gradually getting lighter

that's a neat tattoo. you should get a bass clef for your left arm so you can remember which hands play what on the piano!

That would be pretty cool, I've considered it, but I wouldn't same the same kind of flowery-petally thing again, I would have it in a different style, if it was too similar to the other side I felt it'd be a bit cheesy...
What I had wanted for a while on the left is the Seikilos Epitaph, it's the oldest written piece of Music, originating from Ancient Greece. In Civilisation V they did a modern interpretation of how it would sound that I really like too, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kpVrmRkPWk .
The written words to it when translated are a nice mantra to live by as well;
"While you live, shine
have no grief at all.
Life only exists for a short while
and time demands its toll
"

I think I love AdinX.
Not simply because of the defending of my choice, but for the fact that for once someone is using logic and citing evidence. Even if he was against me I would still respect his view, even if contrary to mine.

That is a beautiful tat, how much did you pay for it?
I keep a full list of tats that I plan on getting, but I gotta go through college before I get any, as an agreement I've kinda kept with my parents.
-Snipsnipsnip-
£300 total, from who I consider to be the best artist on the island I live on (We have quite a few tattoo parlours here so I did a lot of research). It was quoted as a whole day session because of the amount of varying colour in it (which you can't see in the photo dammit), and so was from 10AM-6PM. Normally his day sessions cost £360, I got a discount though.

Also thanks for being someone that understands what's going on in the world of tattoos, I enjoyed your post.
I also really like the tattoo on the link of the word 'me', it's pretty damn awesome!

How much did it hurt on a scale of 1-10?

I wouldn't mind getting a tattoo but so far I haven't found anything I like enough.

Most people I've spoken to said that the bicep part is about a 5, and the shoulder an 8/9.
On my scale of things, it was nowhere near that painful. To me, this hurt less than getting vaccination injections does. The outlining is mildly discomforting, and is definitely a 6/10 on the shoulder (the closer to the bone, the more it hurts), but the majority is colouring, which instead of using a single needle, it looks almost like a paintbrush made of metal. I could barely feel the colouring needle, mainly just the gun vibrating, it was actually quite relaxing. I give the colouring needle a 2/10 because it was pretty nice. The outlining needle on the bicep part was probably a 4. The afterwards is feeling a bit like sunburn.

Yeah no problem with that it's just that it's unusual for a guy to have these kind of tattoos.

Wanted to make something to do with my passion rather than something that simply looked cool. I hate the idea of flash tattoos from an artist's book for that reason, I can't understand people getting them at all.
The rose is a sentimental part of it and to cut a long story short, homage to the house I grew up in that I can no longer visit, sadly. As for the colouring, it does also involve the sentimental purpose, as well as fulfilling the fact that I love blue/purple colours. There's a lot more blue in IRL, the colour didn't come out too well on the photo ;s

are you slowly becoming one of those people whose skin consists of tattoos

No, I don't really want to go for that look. I have a few more ideas but I still want the majority of my body to be clear flesh. I also want to stay away from places that change a lot as you age, only going for places that provided you stay healthy, will not droop or whatever. I know that it wont look better when I'm older, but I don't mind. I'd rather be colourful than simply wrinkley

Good job expressing yourself.

Can't tell if this is sarcasm or not but thanks either way.

inb4 someone comments about the quality claiming they know a lot about tattoos when they just are pulling facts from their brown town cavity.

Nice tat :)
Thanks :)

Why this and not something more uh masculine
Because I don't understand the need people feel to express their masculinity.. I'm comfortable with myself?

Clearly that's what I was going for

Decided to post it here because if I remember correctly, some people very much like tattoos and some don't here.
The photograph is badly lit because I had to take it myself with my SLR, meaning angling was incredibly hard. Due to this, the full range of colours isn't visible.
Here it is!

Was designed by a friend of mine from Australia so that no-one else would have it, and it is a meaningful design to me.
Any Blockheads got any questions? (As in, about the process or stuff, not "wat will u do when ur old lelelel")

For reference before someone says anything, I am genuinely pursuing a career in the Music industry, this isn't just some "i liek music it meens so much" thing. Got a Grade 8 in Guitar, A at GCSE Music, currently studying both Music and Music Technology A-Levels (Prediced B/A* respectively), and will be going onto a degree of Professional Musicianship. (As well as guitar I can also play Piano, Bass, and Ukulele (although who can't).)

because people aren't like you and are free to do what they please w/ their body
I approve of this statement a lot.

I don't think the majority of people here understand the difference between an opinion and a fact.
Regardless of whether you are pro, or contra, most of what you are saying is just an opinion.
You saying they make people look ugly is an opinion.
Me saying they are awesome looking is an opinion.
Being closed minded does not mean you are correct.

People that say "I think they do not look pleasant" or "I like the look of them", that's fine, everyone can accept an opinion, but just flat out saying "EW THEY'RE UGLY PEOPLE WITH THEM SHOULD BE HATED" or "They make everyone loveier" and the likes of that type of ignorance deserve a slap, no matter what they are supporting.
