I like the claymore model.

How did you get those lasers on there?

There's certain ways and I'm wondering your way.
each laser is two flat polygons overlapping in a cross-shape with a transparent png texture.

a lot of this stuff is up to a year old. i don't plan on finishing them, ever. i just wanted to post them wherever.

http://sites.google.com/site/websiteforstuff/downloads/Map_HollowFalls.zip?attredirects=0&d=1
an unreleased map presumably for an RPG. i don't have a clue why i called it hollow falls, which is a stupid name. whatever.
this map has non-looping terrain and four invisible barriers.
there's two waterfalls, and an ocean to the south which sort of 'goes on forever' but you can't swim out too far.
feel free to add a map screenshot and post this in rtb or something.

WARNING: doesn't work in the current version of blockland.
an old attempt at a zombie gamemode.
the framework was kinda poor, but I was and still am proud of the AI and raycasting.
zombies don't see you from behind, and you can stealth kill them with melee weapons.
also there's some cool trigonometry in the ai. i was pretty damn proud of applying trigonometry to an actual scenario for the first time in my life.

non-working claymore.
there are two models in the zip, one for item/pickup and the other which has semi-transparent visible lasers for placement.

http://sites.google.com/site/websiteforstuff/downloads/Weapon_Pipe.zip?attredirects=0&d=1
unfinished pipe weapon. spins in your hand when you equip it. no item icon or ci.

http://sites.google.com/site/websiteforstuff/downloads/Weapon_SFCrossbow.zip?attredirects=0&d=1
a replication of the half-life 2 crossbow. i never released this because i couldn't figure out how to make the bolt invisible when fired, and the animations kept screwing up. there's a folder in the zip that i basically just copied from my milkshape folder, it has a whole bunch of revisions of the crossbow and i'm not sure which one is the latest (i cant find out since i dont have milkshape installed) so i just uploaded the whole folder.
if someone can fix the bolt transparency, then feel free to reupload and post on rtb3 and stuff.
no ci.

http://sites.google.com/site/websiteforstuff/downloads/Client_DynamicCrosshair.zip?attredirects=0&d=1

a little experiment to make a crosshair that grows in size when you move/shoot a weapon like in a modern shooter

it looks like this:

i added limited customization: you can change the five main graphics that make up the crosshair. i made a few test crosshairs: http://sites.google.com/site/websiteforstuff/downloads/dynacrosshairs.zip?attredirects=0&d=1

the folders inside the zip go in config/client/crosshair/ (make this folder yourself)

in game, use setCrosshairGFX("foldername"); to change the graphics

of course, the crosshair doesn't actually affect accuracy, its just a visual effect. and a hacky one, at that, it uses a constantly running clientside schedule. so probably not the best way to do a resizing crosshair.

Games / Re: Favorite Console Controller?
« on: March 31, 2010, 07:27:18 AM »
The Logitech Dualaction is still one of the best controllers I have ever used. It has 2 control sticks, an 8 direction d-pad, plenty (but not too many) buttons and it fits nicely in your hands. It's styled after the dualshock so I'm going to vote for the PS. Gamecube is decent as well.
oh my god yes wedge. i have a logitech rumblepad, its basically the same shape/layout as the dualaction and it's great. wireless, too.

the webkit implementation makes several pages near impossible to use, i hope valve brings it up to scratch with a proper browser because all the error pop-ups and page flashing is getting annoying.

/geddan to geddan (with authentic music!)

i wouldn't recommend running this mod on your server all the time because of laggy schedule loops
