I'm glad we have it! It's not perfect yet, it's really unstable, but I'm impressed with how many add-ons are fully compatible with Rebuilt.

Why? What does Rebuilt have that V21 doesn't that would actually be put to use in a block party? More people play retail, more people are more likely to join if it's on retail, and whoever hasn't already installed Rebuilt probably isn't going to.

Maybe two years later I saw a streamer I liked play Blockland. At first I was excited. I saw some of the same old stuff, but I didn't really see anything interesting anymore. No new gamemodes, obviously maps were long gone, nobody was building anything cool. It was really a shame.

It does make me happy to know that I was there for the better half of Blockland's golden years. Three years of good times is pretty dang good! I still miss what I missed out on, and It's unfortunate that it went so downhill, but it makes me feel good that I was there for some of the best of times.

By the way, I joined the Land of Dran Discord server. I'm excited to see where it goes!

I probably stopped playing around 2013, MAYBE very early 2014. Every couple of years I checked back, each time I was a little more confused than the last. My return yesterday is really the first time in a decade I've really taken a closer look at the state of the game and the community, probably because it's so much smaller.

I actually joined the discords for both last night! I've been joining a few discords to see if there isn't anyone I can ask about these sorts of things and take a look at the community, see if I can recognize any old names. I was also able to contribute some to the archive, and I'm very glad I had new additions for their collection.
I also joined this "Land of Dran" discord to figure out what exactly it is, a lot of the links on threads related don't seem to work anymore.

I'm opening the game and posting on forums today for the first time in about a decade, trying to catch up on history since I last really played this game, looking at successors, revivals and the state of the game.

I was wondering if anybody could fill the holes in my brain from when I wasn't paying attention or appreciating this game as a dumb child who should've paid better attention.

Are there any online ~~dump~~ archive of old saves, maps, gamemode, addons, content?

I'm writing this as somebody coming back to some old online games seeing the state of them feeling sort of somber, Blockland being one of them.
I think fondly on the good times I had, but I'm sad for all the things I missed that were either before my time or that I didn't appreciate and explore the possibilities of.
If I had anything to say to future generations of online gamers, I'd say you miss what you missed. Experience everything before it's gone. Make the best of a community and a game you love. Don't contribute to the negativity of it, and make great things to keep it around longer and make it worthwhile. Make friends, explore the community and everything it has to offer so you don't look back thinking "Man, I wish I'd gotten more out of that game".
I hope that the kids that are my age when I got this game aren't stuck with gachastuff and app store trash. Video games are great, I'm glad some were so important to people that they spent their time making them even greater.

I came across a very old video called "Cyblock" that made me think it was some sort of interesting adventure game.

Help / Can I still change my playertype?

I haven't played in probably 7/8 years, so I'm very lost right now. I'm trying to get back into eventing by doing the first thing I ever did in this game: Changing my player model/playertype. However, I can't manage to find that command anywhere! Is it a removed feature? Or do I have to do it a different way now?
