Finally Blockland has survived its main rival
I don't think Roblox is going anywhere. The reason they're under this pressure is because Roblox Corporation has taken advantage of the pandemic and now has more value than Nintendo.

I know a lot of you guys like Roblox and have some good memories of it in the past (like I have), but I found this video recently and it just made me think to one of Badspot's many rants about how he should've made Blockland some sort of subscription based game so he could make money off handicaps forever lol.

Anyway what are your guys' thoughts about this whole controversy?

forget it, nether update is coming out tomorrow so I'm probably gonna host minecraft again later this week. I'll keep this server up for a little longer then switch over later.

Ok I fixed the issues. I've got all the add-ons and am just using the no jet playertype. While it is slow, the map isn't that big and projectiles act weird when you move too fast so I think it's better.
I'll keep it hosted, maybe join every so often if anyone else is playing it.

Glad you're hosting it now. But i got a couple questions

How come the Youse boxes have a buncha holes in em? Also, with the current playertype, you cant jump very high and cannot get on top of the boxes or reach any ceiling secrets.
Uhhh I dunno about the first one.

I changed the playertype to be quakelike, I remember that being more fun. I don't remember there being issues reaching ceiling secrets though. I'll chance it back for now.

edit: ok so I think I might be missing an add-on somehow. I'll stop hosting for now and fix it later.

mesa deathmatch

Forgot about it, yeah that was pretty fun. I'll host that.

is it bad that I've basically played this game on and off for like ten years but then never bothered to actually befriend anyone here :/

I briefly hosted a LAN server about two years ago for a day with two other people, I don't know of anyone else who used to use them.

It was interesting to see how it differed from single player and regular servers though. I had hatmod enabled on the LAN server and it couldn't keep track of which player was using which hat, whenever someone died they would respawn with whatever hat had last been put on by anyone. I also remember players could kill each other and get killed without having a minigame enabled. Everyone was treated as an admin too.
Was an interesting experience anyway, it was a lot like singleplayer but with multiple people.
Huh, seems interesting. I could definitely see mods that rely on BLIDs would start to forget up.

Nowadays, the age of LAN parties is essentially over. Sure, it can be fun to get your friends and their computers together to play some games, now that Internet speeds are fast enough and programs like Discord allow for easy voice chat, allowing for the experience to more or less be available over the Internet.

However, Blockland is a pretty old game, and it was around when LAN parties were still a thing. Of course most games were played over the Internet, but there's an option to only host your server over the LAN. Since playing over LAN bypassed the authentication, it meant that you could have a separate LAN name and anyone who played on your server would automatically have full trust with each other. It also meant that you only needed one Blockland key to host the server, the rest of the players could simply use the demo, whereas by connecting they would be freed of the brick limit and lack of add-ons and such.

I'm just wondering, about how often was this mode used? Unfortunately for me I never really got a chance to play on a LAN server other than just experimenting with it on my own, I was too young and my parents probably would not have liked it if I brought the family computer to someone's house. However, for the rest of you, how many of you got a use out of the LAN mode? Did anyone introduce the game to someone else through a LAN server? Heck, has anybody ever hosted/been to a LAN party where you guys played Blockland? I'm curious.

Just use the tools to make it then, falling tiles is super simple.
no build
only host

tbh I don't know enough about scripting or anything to get it to work

when tony chainposts so much is he actually outraged for once? or is it still a troll act? ive never been sure, but im getting the vibe of the former rather than the latter.
I think he is genuinely upset, this seems like something he is passionate about. A few years ago the average forum-er would likely be on Annoying Orange's side but now I think that's changed and it probably surprised him.
