Off Topic / Re: Software engineering trends that annoy you
« on: March 15, 2024, 07:46:00 AM »
I'm not sure where you are coming from. I never once suggested or implied Apple does not contributing anything to software engineering. It had nothing to do with that at all. You vehemently defending the company when I was directly critiquing every other company speaks a lot more how you view Apple than I do.
I understand that English may not be your first language, so please understand that when I say "no matter how stupid" both does not mean and is far removed from "this company only produces bad software and/or products and I hate it" or however you are interpreting it.

I apologize for misunderstanding your post. Thank you for clarifying it; it's much clearer to me now.

How did you possibly conflate tech companies blindly following whatever Apple does with "blind Apple hatred?"

we are talking about software engineering right? "whatever apple does tech companies follow", what's wrong with that? Apple did a lot of good things in software engineering believe it or not. Be precise in what specifically annoys you instead of being vague, saying "Apple bad" doesn't mean anything and reflects some ignorance on the subject.

What the hell are you talking about

My post is clear enough

For decades whatever Apple does no matter how stupid becomes the next trend other tech companies will mindlessly chase.

sorry that's not software engineering but typical blind Apple hatred, if you're unable to recognize the contributions they've made to the industry for the past decades, then perhaps you need to delve deeper into the subject

Apple does release excellent things every year for the development on their own platforms along with their own API kits which sometimes are very innovative and opens up new use cases, apart from 1. the whole App Store situation where they are reckless and we can all agree on that, 2. the fact they remove support of old software (not hardware) a bit too quickly in some cases

Bushido meant a lot to me, he was part of what made me love Blockland. I just couldn't believe this happened when hearing the news yesterday.
He was always friendly with me when visiting him on his server back then and I truly loved everything he created because he was a one of a kind content creator. We shared some good times together, creating memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I remember filming very random videos based on miscellaneous things on his server, recalling truly good laughs and memorable moments shared with him. In the coming days, I will publish more unreleased footage that was recorded back then on his server.

My heartfelt condolences go out to his family. May he rest in peace and the community will always remember him for the incredible content he created.

Games / Original HL2 Ravenholm soundtrack???
« on: August 19, 2023, 12:17:19 PM »
So I found out just now that the HL2 "Requiem for Ravenholm" song from Valve is actually from the brazilian group named Sorrows, is called "Solidao e Desespero - III" and actually lasts 7 minutes and 41 seconds (unlike Valve's 33 seconds) but that info is literally not stated anywhere on the Internet from what I found? Also no re-uploads anywhere on Youtube except the song itself. The original Ravenholm song is credited as Valve's but this sounds clearly like the original full song (the part used is at 5:28). The track also seems part of an album declared as released in 1991 on Apple Music and they have a website stating that their group was created in 2001 http://sorrows-doom.com/banda/ (and is still active to this day) which fits with HL2's near release date, so I doubt this is a licensing scam and it's like the very original thing which got digital only since 2015 it appears.

Seems very odd nobody took notice of that until now, there's also not a lot of views on Sorrow's automatic Youtube video. (I literally found that out by Shazam'ing the Ravenholm theme)

I want to believe this is some forget up with the song databases or literally a scam (because of how different it sounds from the other songs on the album) but nothing explains how they got hold of the FULL cut of the song from Kelly Bailey...

Get rid of any VM software you might have on your machine, the network drivers will screw with Blockland.

That's all, if you plan to join Pirate Adventure you will find this helpful
