Gallery / lazy endless zombies city map (w/ download)
« on: January 07, 2021, 09:52:54 PM »
im posting this on behalf of mr noobler because he apparently lost access to his forums account
there isn't any brick pack required except for modter
the higher parts of the build have been blocked off with invisible baseplates, so there's no need to worry about zombies flying out of the map

he decided to upload this to the forums because there isn't much that could be done to lower the latency for other players in his server, so it could probably be modified to be a single player map or something else

feel free to criticize/judge the build

Add-Ons / Re: cars that can break the 200 BPS 'fear' barrier
« on: June 03, 2018, 11:26:44 AM »
i thought it's restricted to 200 no matter what you set it to
the speed limit is 200 torque units / 400 blocks per second, if you're confused

what i did was i set the mass of the vehicle to 100 to get above 149.9 torque units / 299.8 blocks per second, that's how i got above the 'speed limit'

the reason why most cars stop increasing their speeds at 99.9 torque units / 199.8 blocks per second is because their mass is set to 300, which limits the maximum speed allowed for the car

Add-Ons / cars that can break the 200 BPS 'fear' barrier
« on: June 03, 2018, 10:20:18 AM »
i got a little bored with how some cars aren't quite fast, so i thought it'd be a good idea to release some edited cars that either hit blockland's speed limit or be at least faster than the current 'fastest' cars at the moment

Audi TT

======================
top speed: 399.6 BPS
acceleration: slow
braking: slow
traction: good

Fishtail Racer R

=======================
top speed: 398.0 BPS
acceleration: fast
braking: slow
traction: bad

Porscherrari

=======================
top speed: 299.8 BPS
acceleration: very slow
braking: instantaneous
traction: good

the normal variant of the Audi and the Fishtail Racer is still available in there, doing some people a favor since the Audi's old link was dead and some can't find the Fishtail Racer so here it is (the R variant of the Fishtail and the TT version of the Audi are different from the originals, they're the ones that are faster)

Music / mr noobler's music pack (44 loops)
« on: March 30, 2018, 05:06:00 AM »
this loop pack has been kept unused for almost 1 year, so i thought it would be a great idea for noobler to stop being a fatass and release it

just a 'safety' note, all of the loops have been amplified to audible levels for laptop/desktop speakers and not for headphones or earphones
so tone down the volume, that is if you're one of them that uses headphones or earphones

genres are sorted for your own convenience, though i might merge some of them that have too 'specific' genres into one that easily says what it is

==synthesizer pop==
Amy Holland - She's On Fire
Dana Jean Phoenix & Timecop1983 - Reach For The Stars
Elizabeth Daily - Shake It Up
Fleetwood Mac - Little Lies
FM-84 - Wild Ones
Satellite Young - Fake Memory

Add-Ons / Re: Filipe1020 Add-Ons Topic
« on: March 27, 2018, 10:54:36 AM »
Also Filipe do you know the download link to this vehicle?
the old venom? here it is: https://leopard.hosting/dl/jorkq
It's called the Veloce, you can find it on Glass' RTB archive
you might have gotten confused there, its the old version of the venom which resembled a silvia s15 before filipe remodeled it to look like an eclipse

Drama / Re: 12 year olds should be kept off the forums.
« on: March 17, 2018, 01:52:51 PM »
i have seen my fair share of 12 year olds in my lifetime, and i have to say that not all 12 year olds are like this pomp

saying that 12 year olds should be kept off the forums is... not exactly respecting the fact that everyone's bound to be different in some way or another, be it a small speck of a personality trait that is different (think of other people that could be mature as you are, but at 12)

not that i am defending them, but you surely seem to be pissed enough to care about this... i understand

i am pissed as you are, although i am not dealing with the same age group as you are
i should make it clear to you that i have seen 13-16 year olds in my experience, acting below their age and being a general nuisance/stuffhead/attention whore/wannabe/etc as far as i can observe that has happened in my school (it is not only the 12 year olds, some that are older are also prone to acting as if they were below their actual age)

removing all of the 12 year olds from this forum is not going to change anything, because even if we had them barred from registration or even entering the forums, there would be still the minority or majority of 13-16 year olds that are capable of acting below their age

what seriously riled you up the point that you created this drama topic anyway? other than what you said in the original post? was it due to experience?

it sounds like they overwrite the listed vehicles
it's not the first time mac has done such, either
mang i thought people wouldn't be as crazy to compare them, i must be completely unaware of that
do these overwrite or replace any vehicles or are they listed as unique ones if you load them beside eachother?
if i can remember properly, only 3 vehicles overwrite the original ones filipe released

i recall that the Hydric, Rodeo and the Evasion overwrite their original selves (the others have different names so they don't overwrite, but i am going to get out an update to change their names and prevent that)

10
EDIT: updates, the pack now has completely renamed vehicles so they don't overwrite or conflict with the original vehicles
you can now safely enable them alongside with filipe's official versions for comparison

no images since they're based off existing 2nd gen cars that filipe has released - but edited in a way to make them drift in very tight roads (32x32 or 16x16)

there are also grip versions so don't worry about not being able to stay on the road if you cant handle the oversteer

the main purpose of this was to add certain things like lights on some of his cars that didn't have it working, the 2nd thing is making them drift in a very tight track suitable for touge courses if you can ever do make a map for it (or grip races in the same place)

this pack features: the Hachiroku, Cronus, Lozenger Lozere, Evasion, Rosso, Hydric, Aero, Rodeo and the Saloon
[===NAME REFERENCE===]
Hachiroku - Sprinter Trueno/Corolla Levin
Cronus - GT86/BRZ/FR-S
Lozere - Elise
Evasion - Elusion
Rosso - F50
Hydric - Hydros
Aero - iQ
Rodeo - Rodio
Saloon - Silver Shadow

now for starters, certain cars have been readjusted with a different drivetrain:
Hachiroku - RWD
Cronus - RWD (2 variants still utilize AWD)
Hydric - FWD (the drifting variant did not have FWD)
Aero - FWD
=========any vehicles that aren't listed here have their original drivetrains intact======
the most important thing is that all of them don't understeer as much as they did before, some heavy vehicles do still understeer though

all of them have their suspension redone to make them less bouncy over bumps or just a little more tolerant over tall bricks that happen to be in the way, this is to make sure that they can go over those obstacles without facing physics problems

the acceleration, braking and cornering have been improved to make them easier to handle in those narrow roads, the handling MAY be sensitive to those that have not been used to jeep-like handling

the acceleration on the other hand in my own opinion is not very much and is considered a joke in my eyes, but i added a little detail to wheelspin so you can see them in action (for FWD/RWD cars, AWD is not very noticeable)

don't forget this crucial piece of information, you must use mouse steering to countersteer effectively when it comes to the drifting variants, strafe is too slow and too limited to be of any use (though it can be used to some extent, not to the extent of mouse steering's reach)

now, i do understand that there are some people that don't like this kind of change that Mr Noobler has done to them, if you don't like it... just ignore this

if you like realism - just stick with the original vehicles filipe released, please don't bother me or Mr Noobler over this

=[DISCLAIMER: i am not responsible for any type of anger/finger seizures/stroke/brain damage/NO REALISM forget U/im woman asian driver problems, please refer to your doctor if you happen to have any issues that can relate or match with these problems]=

This is the most ignorant thing you have posted the entire thread.
ok maybe i might've been bending my neck too far, but that was my experience

apologies if it had sounded forced but i was trying to explain by experience and not knowledge, i was not aware of adware being
present in certain installers which had appeared god knows when

just give me a little breathing room, my daily driver is not on a modern computer and a modern browser, its old... both of them
so there are high chances of me not being even able to run a standard virus since it may have certain APIs or .dlls that it needs

if you know that i am truly ignorant, could you help darth by giving him a better suggestion for an anti-virus?
i'm not too sure whether if i did but this statement was just years of running XP/Server 2003/2000/NT 4.0, i sincerely apologize if i sounded too much of a corpse under a rock

12
Well it already has 4gb ram and it's 32bit, because it's an xp, so idk about that. My brother does have some spare hard dries iirc
those vague specifications tell me that it should be still capable of being used without being upgraded, i suggest installing Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 32-bit
that is if you want to stay with the 32-bit version if compatibility is your biggest requirement (server 2003 is the most stable version of XP's kernel, and should be compatible with applications running on XP)

and if your HDD isn't dying, there is no need for a spare HDD unless you have a feeling that the S.M.A.R.T. statistics are bad enough
Desktop, my good sir
Well for gods sake the thing is like 15 years old do you really expect anything about it to be 64bit?
there still can be a 90% chance that your outdated desktop is capable of 64-bit operation, my Toshiba Satellite P25 is and was always said to be only capable of running 32-bit applications
but a CPU swap made it capable of running 64-bit applications
You can get a cheap less than 200 dollar modern computer which will probably out perform that virus filled windows XP.

So how much is windows 7 software these days?

Also factor in the price of the parts he needs to upgrade that computer.

Decent anti-virus software.

So you're spending about 100 dollars at least or more to upgrade an ancient computer when you could put in about 100 more dollars to get something better that will last longer.

Windows XP computers are old, wouldn't doubt it's nearing its last life.

I'm just being honest here.
XP machines are still capable of doing day-to-day tasks if its not related to DirectX 10 gaming and above
google chrome may not support XP but chrome 49 is still a viable browser that supports XP and can display most of the websites without entering a juggled up mess of UIs

plus LGA775 (considering he has 4GB of RAM and thats common in LGA775 builds) motherboards are still capable of being gamed on provided you overclock them
and things like parts are hilariously cheap (especially cpus) gpus on the other hand is a different case, but you still can get old parts for cheap

and honestly a modern 200 dollar computer whether it being a desktop or a laptop is a joke to certain fast ancient desktops or laptops, seriously
let us compare between these 2 processors:

(modern budget laptop processor)                                                          (ancient overclocker laptop processor)
Intel Mobile Celeron N2840 @ 2167MHz versus Intel Mobile Core 2 Extreme X9100 @ 3067MHz
2014 price: $107 (for the SoC only)                                                                            2008 price: $851 (for the CPU only)
2017 price: not known because nobody is selling them in SoC form,           2017 price: $9-17 (according to eBay)
though it could be bought around $150-$280 depending on the laptop
on the markets these days

upgradeable: no, it is BGA                                                                                            upgradeable: yes, it is PGA

..you obviously know which would win, right?

[OPTIONAL: THIS MAY NOT BE A GOOD RECOMMENDATION]

anyways for anti-viruses, IT IS a common-sense thing that consumers should know what to not click and what to click or download

you'll honestly never need an anti-virus if you can protect yourself from fishy or sketchy looking ads or downloads (which i have done for the past 10 years)
if i have to quote somebody from a certain website: "The best anti-virus is you."

13
1: since i am using an event addon that changes wheels and suspension there is no way it would cause this error or else it would be failbinned
ok great, at least you've gotten a better alternative other than CVS
2: no i'm not, if you even paid one little bit of attention you would realize that i'm talking about BRM and BVRC, this project instead focuses more on customization than realism
i was referring to your previous attempts that were not going to work, it was because of your aim of realism (sorry if i hadn't put that reference note somewhere in my previous post)

that was what i was trying to point out, to avoid using realism in your project
springs can be used on more than one vehicle

and it's a vehicle server. unless there's thousands of springs, this isn't a problem.
i know that, i may have failed phrasing that properly... apologies

the 2nd part is where i wanted my thoughts to be understood, this is exactly what i thought and what i feared of
easily fixed
when we have a stuff ton of people that can't handle grippy cars like a jeep with higher top speeds and more sensitivity akin to a Porscherrari in corners, i don't think its easy enough to call it 'easily fixed' when there are people that can't drive cars like that

then there would be stupid suggestions like a 'easy mode' whereas all cars are made in such a way that they lack grip and understeer to hell, just to cater to the ridiculous amount of people that cant drive a proper car
depends on the build, but easily reduced
that leads me to think; was there anyone that had ever used bodyRestitution to assist in reducing bouciness of most vehicles?

14
- customize your car's CVS/VEH parts, wheels/tyres, and suspension
customize tires, and suspension? have you heard of the infamous "Invalid packet WheeledVehicle::unpackUpdate()" that has some relation to do with the customizable suspension and tires? you've got to be seriously careful if you added customizable tires and suspension, that makes a recipe for an error to pop up at any time and to anybody that plays (heard that this only affected cars with CVS in the past)
there don't seem to be any real driving servers that exist right now and twice i've tried to fill that gap with realistic track racing but it's never worked out.
see, the problem is that you are looking for realism

and the problem is that blockland is not a racing simulator, and can never be because of the physics and the slow vehicle updates sent to our clients which makes it hard to tell if we're in for a collision course or not
this is probably my best server idea yet and is way more easy to do than BVRC or BRL
this in my opinion does not look any easier than doing BVRC or BRL, this looks even harder with all that work and development hell you will be in if you were to take all those features in check
Tier 1 (13 cars) - Brent Aero, Dalton Clover, Torino Euro Turbo, Brent Cronus, Volks Club GTI, Dalton Miami, Dalton Capital, Dalton Buggy, Nakata Hydric, Block Bochum, Nakata 86, Shinozaki Spirit, Nakata Venom, Torino Citi
Tier 2 (8 cars) - Aurore Lozere, Dalton Evasion, Dalton Dominator, Brent Cronus Drift, Nakata Hydric Drift, Rampanti Hyperion, Aurore Veloce, Nakata Venom Drift
Tier 3 (5 cars) - Boston Bullrout Drag, Rampanti Hyperion SV, Aurore Veloce RS, Fierra Rosso, Fierra Impavido
Classic (2 cars) - Boston SEMI Bullrout, Dalton Lowrider
SUV (3 cars) - Bengs Gunloader, Dalton Rodeo (SUV), Dalton Rodeo (Pickup)
that is a lot of vehicles.. are you completely sure that they would have many suspension options to choose from? because each one of them are definitely going to have different settings for their suspensions to be customized and then,  you're going to end up using a stuff ton of datablocks! may i mention that you can't modify one single suspension datablock because all the other existing vehicles that use the same suspension datablock would take the same changes too? (if you didn't know)

while customizable is definitely a good idea, its too overly ambitious and requires inefficient usage of datablocks to get the idea through (although, you could set limits on how customizable the suspension is going to be)
please if you have any hope for this at least give some ideas or help out
you did not mention working police lights in the planned cop system, i guess you could add that without the annoying siren noise

seriously though, its too overly ambitious but i'm not trying to be a downer either... you could at least simplify or remove a feature to make this less of a hassle to be completed
