Ash walks over to where Lorens is laid up and grabs a stool. "[Feeling any better?,]" He asks as he sits down.
"[Better. Doctor said I should be out in two weeks, if everything goes well,]" Lorens responds, apparently thankful he got away with only minor blast injury and a concussion.
"[Glad to hear. Just keep resting then. Those two weeks will be over in no time.]"
"[Hah, like I was planning on doing anything but rest,]" Lorens forces out a chuckle, "[I... I think I'm done.]" In a sudden change of tone, life drains quickly from his expression and he reverts to staring at the cieling, "[I don't have any more fight left in me.]"
Acknowledging his brother's exhaustion, Ash drops his usual persona and sits in silence. Lorens eventually closes his eyes and falls asleep.

Lorens tilts his head at the commotion to find Ash and Jaakko and forces his hand up in a waving gesture.
"[We plan on settling down somewhere outside of Mercana,]" Ash smiles and waves back, "[Probably Kintharia. We have a relative on our dad's side of the family there who might help.]"

Intent on visiting the infirmary himself, Ash catches up to Jaakko in the hallway.
"Yo, Maj'!," Ash calls out, defiantly upbeat in light of what transpired over the last several days. He jogs up to his side before switching to a more mild tone of voice, "[Care to talk?]"

The facades on the street are lit with a bright flash from some miles away. We're doomed, Ash thinks to himself. Half a minute passes, but contrary to expectation no massive shock wave ripples through the city, no mushroom cloud towers above him.
Cautiously, Ash peers over where he took cover with the artillerymen. He scans the skies over the metropolis and tries to spot the heavy bombers, but the starry night sky is clear.
"Is it over?"
... It's over!
Lorens watches glowing remains of the Odslighet fall to the city below, his mouth agape in shock and awe. Emotion washes over him as he tries to tally the lost, to calculate their sacrifices and to figure out if it was all worth it.

Lorens winces as the flash of the secondary explosions aboard the Blixtkrig light up the sky before him for a few fractions of a second. Buffeted by the resulting shockwave, his heart skips a beat before relief washes over him as his parachute miraculously stays open.
Realizing he hasn't heard seen or heard Ash over the radio, Lorens wonders if his brother is still alive. With what precious little time he figures he has, he starts praying to every deity he's ever known—for Mjolnir to accomplish its last mission, for Ash's soul, and for his own.

Cannon rounds perforate the already stricken Tornado. Before Lorens could react, a shockwave slams him against his harness, thrashing his head and knocking the wind out of his lungs. He pries his eyes wide open to find stars whirling around him in the roosterpit.
"... This is Snowman... I'm punching out," Lorens calls out to no-one in particular, failing to register his roosterpit has gone dark and that there was only static coming out of his headset. He sluggishly reaches for the canopy release and pulls the ejection handle.

Lorens pitches down and ducks underneath the Blixtkrig before turning to fly span-wise across the underbelly of the carrier. He spots the port engine bank, pitches back up and fires at it with both guns.
