That didn't last very long.
The gamemode is more suited to open-air and maps with larger rooms, anyways.
I loving hate this wide open Battlefield Noshar Cbrown towns bullstuff map that's being used but I don't know if anything else will be suited for the gamemode :(

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Blockland with xbox controller
« on: November 15, 2014, 11:11:14 PM »
Xbox button- idk

The Xbox button would do what the Xbox button does, which is bringing up the Xbox menu.

And if there's a script, then theoretically a batch file could be made that runs Blockland with the script simultaneously. Or just have Blockland use a launch parameter to determine whether the game is being run to support controller input so you could still use Blockland with Steam.

according to: http://badspot.us/img/Blockland-Prototype.html

It was going to be a fortwars game with alternating rounds of building and combat
ironic fun fact: Blockland was hosted on the Age of Time website, but now Age of Time is hosted on the Blockland Forums

Thats forgeted up lol. You call this a poor remake yet other "remakes" give console errors upon starting Blockland. Do you read your console sir?
Although I understand your point
You're shooting yourself in the foot.

You're making this for the community, not Badspot. Why do you think it's a good idea to ignore the community's criticism and wait for your almighty Badspot to "ask you to change the name?" I can tell you that he doesn't give two stuffs about RTB remakes, the most he'll probably do is stick this in drama or move it to fail bin. I don't even know why you're publishing this now, it doesn't do anything more than any other RTB reiteration and you still have some learning to do.

Drama / Re: Forums Down & Master Server Flickering
« on: November 13, 2014, 03:30:33 AM »
Theoretically, couldn't somebody make some kind of dll inject that bypassed the master server and the auth check all together? And to avoid abuse the dll could first ping the master server a couple of times to see if it's alive or not, and if it is it quits itself.

These are sick asf, and just in case Badspot gets the right idea to put these in the game, I made a quick mock-up of where the recolor points could be.

General Discussion / Re: The Glitchs and Exploits Topic (Report Now)
« on: November 10, 2014, 11:04:03 PM »
Hate to be the grammar national socialist, but that first messed up 'too' makes my brain hurt trying to understand what you were trying to say.

On a side note, is it really the best idea to have a forum thread dedicated to glitches and exploits? I mean it's cool and all to know what to look for as far as people exploiting bugs, but this also has the potential to create many more exploiters at the same time.
No exploits or bugs of use have been mentioned so far so I wouldn't really worry about it.

The feather bug happens to any entity that's rendered between 0% and 100% transparent. I don't really know why that happens, but the only reasonable blame should be put on Torque itself.

You missed my point entirely.

I think your looking at this all wrong. I didn't put "little to no effort" into this. I spent quite some time making all the art, sounds, and cleaning up the code to make the
file size smaller, and just as powerful. I had to do quite a bit of GUI fixing and coding along
with scripting to do this.

You didn't put any effort into thought or planning this, you just changed everything around trying to fix something that wasn't broken in the first place. I'm talking about the GUI layout and the IM feature, code doesn't really matter in this sense because nobody is going to be presented with code, they're going to be presented with graphical elements (Besides, who gives a stuff if you shaved some KB off of other peoples projects that were already under 2MB, it's 2014 ffs).

If you think you can do better I mean go ahead be my guest.
No, really.

I don't need to because there are already more than enough revivals of RTB, anymore would just be jumping on the bandwagon.

Im not trying to "slap" my name all over it. I said from the start it is Gothboy's Modified RTB because that's simply what it is. The Infomaniac was old anyways. I put a few of my own tips in the code as well such as "If your stuck in a door, sit, hold crouch, then click" among others.

Yes, but why are you trying to fix something that isn't broken. Just because it's old doesn't make it obsolete.

Give me a little time to polish it up. sheesh. You dont even know how many times I redid the overlay buttons

You can't polish a turd.

If you're serious about this and you think this will stand out from the other iterations of RTB, I'd suggest going back to square and redoing at least the graphic portions of this. GG with the code, everything else needs to be reconsidered.
