So close! You even pointed out that political violence can come from radicalized individuals of any political background! You're so close to realizing you're an extremist but not a radical.
You believe the same things, just not combined with violence. You're effectively one stressor away from being radicalized. Radicalized individuals can do all kinds of crazy stuff, like mass violence or targeted violence. The existence of LGBT radicals does not make me think the government should regulate people's gender any more than the overwhelming majority of shooters being white men make me think being white should be illegal. If the national socialists AND the communists AND the tribals AND the environmentalists AND the religious groups  all being radicalized, the issue isn't what you believe anymore. It's how you believe it, and how vulnerable you are to being radicalized, that are important.

Small, tight knit cells are the ideal target for radicalization. If I'm Iran, or Russia (the two countries that do the most political manipulation of the west), it's way cheaper to post crazy stuff in a forum and radicalize someone like sephiroth than it is to send some kind of operator to do the same amount of harm.

People like you are indeed very necessary to create people like sephiroth. You help people like him feel kike their ideas are normal. You are an intentional fixture of an echo chamber designed to divide and destroy. It's so easy. All I have to do is tell you the spooky scary gays are gonna eat your babies, and you'll think and talk about it for years for me. Then, I go tell a trans person that all the Christians want them dead, and do the same thing to them.

I literally pointed out that you say a lot of fossil fuel funded propaganda, and you literally posted a picture of OPEC funded propaganda. Gay and trans people make up less of the population than psychopaths. Think lil man...

You're soo close to seeing how harmful ideology can radicalize vulnerable people into terrible acts. I'm not going to attack your beliefs, nor William's. All I'll do is point out there are thousands of games, hundreds of thousands, many with forums and much larger communities.

Take a moment for self-reflection. Perhaps the reason hate-speech exists as a concept is because some people literally can't take the joke and terrible things can happen. Obviously that doesn't make you or anyone else in the blockland forum responsible for the behavior of a murderer.

Like you've said, blockland is an echo chamber. It's not a coincidence that he was a large member of this community. You'll notice I'm not taking a political stance. That is because a) my political beliefs are well aligned with partisan politics and b) the political stance doesn't actually matter. It would be no different if you were a communist and sephiroth was a trans person who shot up a school (a thing that happened in my city, actually)

Both you and he gobble up the same flavors of propaganda, so it's no surprise people lump y'all together. We all eat propaganda at some point, but it's rare I get to see effects described in literature about neo-conservative political violence just directly exhibited.

For example, you say a lot of sensible things. Classic common sense talking points. It's one of the most controversial issues in the US. IIRC, about 80% of anti-trans videos, commercials, and articles (the classic propaganda vectors) are directly funded by oil and coal companies. That's a funny coincidence...
common sense is one of the highest conversion rates to violence from ideology. As a derivative of gay bashing, trans violence is very common, though not very visible as the absolute number of transgender people is like 1% of the population.

I guess my question is: did one of the people you knew and were friends with becoming so radicalized that he committed an act of terrorism change your relationship with your political views or how you express them?

Nah it still says buy now, ofc.
And it's 30955! A goodie. Same one on my forum account. Maybe badspot will notice next month. I've played the game for a decade surely I can wait a few more months to start playing it again

this smells fishy

I wish. Username in-game is JawaMonk, so if ya see me in game I doubt I'll be in the forums. Unfortunately, it seems a lot has happened since the last time I played... The Devastation is truly brutal...

Hey yall. Making this post in the vague hope that maybe someone will see it who can bring it to Badspot's attention. I've emailed the support page and been through the wringer with steam support as well.
Key transfer is reported as successful, it correctly reports my BL_ID tied to my steam account, whether through the old key or through my forum account. Both point towards my steam account.
Trouble is, it's not in the library. A kind soul (thanks, Conan!) reported one of my messages about the issue to ol Badspot, but seeing as it's been a month since the ol sport's been on the forum, I'm not sure if he'll see that either.

Now the game ain't all that expensive, but as I've had the account for >decade,it would suck to lose the old JawaMonk account...
Just to abbreviate the actions taken:
Blockland support contacted (a day or so ago)
Badspot PM'd (a day ago)
Steam contacted(for a few days, they said there's nothing they can do from their end, recommended contacting Badspot, if you can imagine.)
Follow-up email to support (containing more screenshots and info, today)
And now this post. Pray for me, y'all. Or play for me!

Given the subject of the topic, this thread is hilariously lacking in self-reflection. I hope grips are gotten, all 'round. Crazy times we live in, and an even better echochamber. Cheers!
