Damn it really takes that longfull heat with the lid off works too and cooks the rice in like 8-10 minutes but isnt anywhere near as good
for basic white rice, simple recipethis is exactly what i do and it works wonders
1:2 ratio
1 part rice : 2 part water
ie, 1 cup of rice, 2 cups of water
first boil the water on the stove, add some salt to the water, add the rice to the water, stir, reduce heat to low-medium and cover with a lid
occasionally stir and wait until all of the water evaporated, you can literally even leave it and forget about it too until its done
you'll get fluffy white rice in about 10 - 20 minutes
