lol, I started but Slayer currently can't have datablock lists in player options, so I gave up. Greek2Me said he's fixing that in the next version, so once that's done I'll actually finish it.

Well I haven't tested it in forever, but from what I remember it gave some error when you tried to run it.
Also it doesn't do it on slayer, idk if you could make that work but if you could somehow that'd be swell.
Wouldn't doubt it, considering how stuffty my code is.

Is there any documentation for making a gamemode for Slayer?

It was released

Oh god, flash back to the past.

no that one doesn't work anymore
What's broken about it? I could probably take a look this weekend and get it fixed in an hour or so.

General Discussion / Re: New Trailer Project (Vote for the music)

Another music suggestion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfyAQDcV9xk
A ton of Waterflame's stuff sounds awesome for a trailer.

EDIT: Some others I think would fit from Waterflame.

To me personally, Blockland is not a gritty game so why have gritty music? Softer, more "imaginative" music sounds a lot more fitting IMO.

For the music, my personal opinion is that something Madeon-related would fit and sound really good.
For example, this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vois0RMtPHE
I know some of his music was suggested before.

General Discussion / Blockland is currently $5 on Amazon (75% off)
« on: June 06, 2013, 10:03:34 AM »
It looks like Amazon's throwing a big celebration for their new indie game store and for it are discounting various indie games by up to 75%. Blockland appears to be in this list and is currently 75% ($5) on the Amazon store. I can't find anything stating how long the sale is for (though it looks like it's until June 10th), so I would nab some keys as fast as you can.

Link to Blockland's Amazon Page

EDIT:
Blockland is part of the Indie 10-Game Action Pack. Proceeds from this bundle go straight to the developers.

Blockland's picture also appears on the bottom of the main Indie Store page.

EDIT2:
Blockland is up there with a bunch of well known indie games. Why not see if we can't push Blockland's popularity at all?

Recommend the game on reddit. Since a lot of good indie games are on sale, I'm pretty sure this is going to gain a lot of traffic, especially on reddit. With a lot of people asking which games are good in the sale, now is a golden opportunity to get the game out there.

Write a good review for Blockland. More reviews we get here the more people are going to look at the game. For this price, even a quick look can lead to someone buying Blockland.

Dude, thats just off sale like -5% or -50% and it already ended while they're trying to get it on steam -_-

Looks like Amazon is discounting Blockland for 75% off in celebration of the new indie store.

Badspot, have you considered participating in an indie bundle such as Humble Indie Bundle, IndieGala, Indie Royale, etc?

I'm pretty sure the profits from those sales would be minuscule, but it could get Blockland the player base and popularity it needs.

EDIT:

I think I'm going to do /r/minecraft.

EDIT: I read the rules of the page, apparently advertising Youtube videos counts as spam. Wonder if that is the case for people advertising games?

EDIT2: I'm doing the post for /r/lego
I was implying Badspot should specifically buy advertisement in those locations, but I guess a post works. If it turns out bad, well there's no such thing as bad publicity.

Greenlight from another indie developer's perspective.

Perhaps we should run a Kickstarter campaign for some addition to the game? Adventure mode ahoy?
Lewis' post after that comment brings up some good points. Everyone keeps saying, "oh we need a new video.", "oh we need this new features...", etc and I honestly think it won't help Blockland get greenlit in the slightest. The only thing that gets games greenlit is publicity and that's been proven again and again. Badspot needs to start pushing the game out there. I would start first by following what Lewis recommends. From there I would do things such as advertise to places such as /r/lego or /r/minecraft where people would be interested in the game. Have the community make megathreads on Facepunch, Minecraft forums, Lego forums, Neogaf, SomethingAwful, etc. Do all of these in a short time span and I'm sure Blockland's vote rate will jump quite a bit.

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Splash screens
« on: April 01, 2013, 01:25:40 AM »
If the splash screen was server-sided it would lead to people abusing it, as much as I'd like it to become reality, the truth is our community is too immature to handle it.
What about gmod? It works fine there, it should work fine here.

Unless he really screwed up his graphics drivers, it going to be hardware based. You can try and update graphics drivers to see if that fixes it, but if it doesn't, you need to get it repaired/replaced.

So it's a CPU error. Is there any way that could fix this without modifying my machine or doing anything extreme? Again, running of a school owned computer so the chances of doing something drastic isn't very ideal. Thanks for the help though.
So it's a CPU error.
CPU error

It's a big problem with your GPU memory. I'm going to guess your GPU memory is corrupted and that's not something you can fix software side. You'll need to take the machine in and get it repaired.
Posting this again.

It's not LOD calculations like the first guy said. If it were, all you'd be getting is very pixelated graphics mixed with normal graphics. You're getting things like Youtube bars showing up in other games, which is showing your graphic cache was unable to clear, which points straight to the GPU memory.
Okay.
