If you don't like metal, you've never truly been mad at the world and felt victimized, or you can't take loud noises and have trouble identifying with it.
If you don't like rap, you listen to the wrong rap or you don't take time to understand where the artist is speaking from. (Most rap is trash, some rap is amazing- this is a fact.)
If you don't like country, you haven't been exposed to the situation that makes country music good, or you think it's too simple and unaware. This is okay, but give everything a chance. Even country songs can take you on an adventure.
If you don't like pop, you aren't used to letting your soul dance for you, or you haven't been exposed to the rhythm of your body. I know some pop songs are annoying, but some have strong vibes up for grabs.
If you don't like rock, you aren't loving the simple things in life. The love, happiness, and pain that is described in this music genre all has a place in your life. It just may not be the time for it yet.
If you love any music, you are off to a good start. Embrace the fact that you are an ever-changing being that will one day embrace new music, taste, and interest. You will have new battles, and new life to engage.
Music will help you. All kinds of music can be beneficial in some way. Except that Justin Bieber friend. He is not good.
