I'm helping out with my friend's Facebook page.
Is there a way to have a folder of photos on your computer, and have it so they're automatically posted to your Facebook page's wall, like once per day or so?

Yeah, my mouse just freezes every 20 seconds or so. The rest of the computer works fine. Sound, visuals, even the mouse buttons work fine. But the cursor stops moving. :U

EDIT: It's wired.

Off Topic / Help Daedalus on a little summer project he's doing.
« on: July 01, 2012, 06:45:28 PM »
Okay.
So I'm working on a relatively ambitious computer-related project.

What I need is a computer rig, minus the case, with the best heat efficiency possible (not 100% mandatory, just if possible). Don't worry about the case or external fans. Just the parts for a good home computer rig (NOT a gaming computer).

Price doesn't matter, I guess, but I'd like to make it around 300-500 dollars. You can also suggest multiple rigs for different prices, as I'm trying to consider ALL my options.

Games / Undead Labs - Class3 is happening!
« on: June 28, 2012, 12:36:32 AM »

Undead Labs is a Seattle, Washington-based game development studio developing a zombie-survival game for Xbox 360. It was established by Jeff Strain in 2009, and has since brought artists and programmers who have worked on titles like Guild Wars and Diablo to their team.

Jeff Strain, the creator, was previously the lead dev of World of Warcraft. Now he's making badass zombie games.

CLASS3

The end is here. The mother of all zombie outbreaks has hit, and a handful of scattered survivors are fighting tooth and nail to survive. Humanity is on the brink of extinction, and you’re one of the lucky few to still have a pulse. The time has come for you to make a stand and forcibly take back your world from the hordes of roving undead. Will you find and fortify a base, perform daring raids for valuable stores of food and ammunition and rescue other survivors? Or will you take your chances and go it alone? The choice is yours…

Here’s what you can expect to see in ‘Class3’:

    Zombie Survival
What if society came screeching to a halt? What if all our rules and laws no longer mattered? ‘Class3′ brings these questions to life in a very real way. It’s not just about combat; it’s about doing what you must do to stay alive. Food, water, shelter, and ammo — you’ll need them all. Taking you beyond the initial panic, and beyond the first weeks of the crCIA, ‘Class3′ is the embodiment of the “What if?” zombie apocalypse scenario.

    Sweet Action
Move through the world like a zombie-slaying badass. Dive through windows, jump on cars, and take it to the living dead with baseball bats. Hop in a truck and mow down some undead pedestrians. Break into the local police station and clear out their arsenal or walk into the local grocery store to stock up on your favorite junk food. The world is your oyster…a shiny oyster that happens to be filled with zombies.

    An Evolving World
‘Class3’ is an open sandbox world that develops in real-time, dynamically generating content based on your actions, the choices you make, and the ever-increasing zombie threat. Decide where you’d like to set up a fortified safe haven for you and other survivors you’ve rescued, then form raiding parties to gather resources and create supply chains. Use the materials you’ve gathered to develop your community as you see fit, but be careful — resources will deplete as you pillage areas, and zombies are attracted to noise and activity. Take up the offensive by assaulting hordes before they reach your settlement, or focus on improving your defenses against the massed zombie attacks. Every choice and every action matter in this fully simulated, evolving world.

Basically, Class3 is this Xbox Live Arcade game with 2-player co-op. It's essentially DayZ but twoplayer and a lot cooler. You can fortify anything, anywhere, and set up a camp where you recruit survivors and form raiding parties.

Did I mention the game is persistent? After you log off, your world keeps simulating constantly. So you'll want to check back with your partner (or not, if you're playing alone).

I'm too lazy to copy it in, but they're also working on Class4, which is the same thing but built using user feedback and being hosted on an enormous server with thousands of people simultaneously.

Off Topic / Best way/book to learn Python for web development?
« on: June 18, 2012, 01:26:28 AM »
I'm eventually looking to use Pylons as a web development framework. But Python had to be all hipstery and confusing and now I don't understand it.
Any books or websites that are good for learning Python? Ones that actually teach you? I've gone from stuffty tutorial to stuffty tutorial, looking for something decent.
Books are preferred.

Off Topic / E3 POST-MORTEM REPORT
« on: June 05, 2012, 10:52:59 PM »
ALRIGHT MOTHERforgetERS.

...I got no swag codes like last year for you guys. :(
I did get a Forza Horizon T-shirt, a Gears of War Judgement t-shirt, and a Halo 4 t-shirt.

BYYYY THE WAY.
This year was way better because this nice woman named Stephanie (who was RUNNING the entire microsoft section) led my two friends and I around, and she cut ahead of the lines for us.
We did AC3, GoW Judgement, Halo 4, uhhh, and we saw things including (I'm going to bold the ones I saw that were really cool):
- Cronus, a USB gadget that lets you modify your controllers wirelessly. YOU CAN RUN ANY CONTROLLER ON ANY SYSTEM AND TURN THEM INTO RAPIDFIRE CONTROLLERS OR COMPLETELY RECODE THE CONTROLLERS WITHOUT MODDING THEM :D
- An HTML5 platform for iOS and Android.

- Far Cry 33333333333333333333333333333 333333333 oh god so fun
- Devil May Cry
- A portable gaming platform. Basically, you put your Xbox/PS3 into a little case that has controller ports, a built-in foldout screen, speakers, and power. :D You can buy a rolling attachment, too.
- Turtle Beach and Razer. Self-explanatory.
- Dishonored OH GOOOD SOO COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
- Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition
- MoH Warfighter
- Resident Evil 6
- Warface
- South Park: Stick of Truth
- Need for Speed Hot Pursuit
- Sony's Pingpongball-on-a-Stick (yeah, it's still stuff)
- Improved WiiU, I guess
- Alienware
- Free Newegg stuff
- SimCity
- Battlefield Premium (stuffloads of DLC for battlefield - essentially CoD Elite but overpriced. with love, EA
- Crysis 3
- Black Ops II
- The Amazing Spiderman
- Splintercell: Blacklist

So, a pretty good day in all. I had a bacon-wrapped hotdog and lychee iced tea with lychee jelly.

Off Topic / Alright, I'm off to E3.
« on: June 05, 2012, 09:52:15 AM »
In an hour, my dad's gonna come get me. I'm going to take the car to my friend Jet's house, and then we'll take the bus downtown to the LA Convention Center.

THEN
I
WILL
FEEL
GLORIOUS

Last year, when we walked in, hot women handed us free cans of NOS.
This should be fun.
Before I go, discuss stuff about E3. :D

Games / WarZ - a Minecraft server I'm working on
« on: June 02, 2012, 12:19:45 AM »

Up above is the main control center.

Basically, in my server I'm releasing with 2 friends, you fight massive hordes of zombies, while at the same time building up your base and attacking others with force.
It's going to be totally PvP oriented, with massive hordes of zombies (aforementioned).
There will be three tiers of classes, each with their own special bonuses.
We're adding an economy system, with shops.
Other features:
- Military themed ranks purchased with ingame money, with bonuses
- Donation perks, like VIP status, plots of land to build on, etc.
- Banks
- Safe zone cities
- Quarantined cities, filled with zombies (but also riches, should you fight your way to the center)
- And many more!

Would you guys be interested in playing on this server?
We're planning to buy a dedicated rig with 48 gigs of ram (we have plans for another server in the future ;D) and run the server 24/7.
