i'm going to call it a man if it looks like a manyou missed the entire point of his post lmao
being a tribal isn't really a bad thing.i would have been ready to factually and intellectually debate the rest of your comment
Wait, after reading up on the differences, isn't just being transgender (on a broad sense) just being a slightly against the norms person, yet having Gender Dysphoria is *really* being transgender (or wanting to be the opposite gender)?i posted something about this in another thread - even the DSM-V kinda stopped giving a stuff about gender dysphoria because it's not really an illness, it's just like being uncomfortable with any other part of your personal identity
And also, if this is a real social issue, then is it a social movement (LGBT) or an actual movement to come to terms with mental disorders as saying they're totally okay (implying that LGBT is generally a disorder group) and not harmful in any way? (not saying that they are disorders).social movement - trans people will tell you it's not an illness, but many think it is which leads to violence and abuse, etc
I was diagnosed with Gender Dysphoria. I'm pretty sure it's a standard diagnosis when trying to determine if hormone therapy is necessary.i mean, it has to be considered that this country is fairly garbage with diagnosing and treating people, so there's that
“Illness” is sometimes used to describe conditions, such as schizophrenia which has a strong biological basis but is not at all confirmatory.they use the word illness for a whole slew of things, that's not a compelling argument. it's interchangeable

Um...http://www.dsm5.org/documents/gender%20dysphoria%20fact%20sheet.pdfnot all trans individuals have gender dysphoria, note "This condition causes clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or

they're literally synonyms

"A mental disorder, also called a mental illness or psychiatric disorder"
mental disorder =!= mental illnessgive me a definition-based difference from a credible source; i pulled mine from the DSM-V
the only thing i don't like about trans is they most emphasize that they are trans. after you've 'converted' why don't you just keep living your life and stop complaining about the troubles of being trans? thats whats so annoying. if you don't want an argument to start, don't even mention being transgender. just say the gender you identify by, and don't make stuff happenthis argument works in theory, but in a practical sense its not that simple. peoples' old identities linger behind them, and OTHER people "make stuff happen." trans people are abused and harassed because of hostile people who believe they're sick or less than human.
Oh OK. That's more understandable then.yeah haha i'm not that egregiously judgmental just based upon a linguistic correction
You equated people to garbage because they made a grammar and/or spelling error?those were two independently phrased thoughts - i evidently didn't make it clear enough with the line breaks. my bad
