No one other than law enforcement is permitted to have a gun on school grounds. It's a federal law. The janitor, teachers, kids (esp.), principals, superintendent, you name it. Teachers should carry maces, however.

it's absolutely loving inane to say that we should just have kindergarten teachers carrying weaponry

bisjac these are loving kindergarten/elementary school teachers. how do you expect them to fight off a gunman? I can't visualize a first grade teacher wielding a pistol against a killer, much less shooting him.
I agree with you on a lot of things, but that's just loving stupid. remove the gun in the first place, and it wouldn't have happened. it's sad that you can get a driver's license easier than a gun license.

staff members dont stand in front of children. they stay at the inside of classroom doors as is the rule in these situations. and kids were crammed into closets.that's true, tomcat. they wouldn't really be thrown about everywhere

A lot of people love carrys, there's a minority that prefer playing supports.
