supposedly is an alienware x51, would be surprising if it didn't have a GPU in it

you can see what GPU you have with something like speccy, or probably nvidia control panel/geforce experience
also should show up in task manager (ctrl+shift+esc) under the performance tab

17
did you try enabling shadows/shaders?
did you make sure you also have a GPU capable of running them?
did you make sure it's running on that GPU?

it's been doing that to me every so often for the last decade

here's some of the relevant update bits on name changing
Blockland r2023
...
  • Multiple BLIDs can be linked to one Steam account.
  • You can no longer change your username.  One BLID = one name.
  • Everyone with the default "Blockhead" name has had their name cleared and will be able to set a new name when they log in.

There are many code changes involved here so if you see any bugs with names, joining, hosting, etc, don't hesitate to report them.

...

You'll also need to log in to your BLID on the client at least once to set the username.
it sounds like there's one initial name change (?)

also
...

Frequent name changing is a major source of friendry.

...
so unlikely name changing is coming back, at least in the way it used to be

Off Topic / Re: Who here hasn't changed their avatar for years?

they're stuck with it forever
i also keep misreading the recent "SFM Blockland Avatars" as satin minions

and i think i've only had 3-4 avatars, this one i've had for about 5 and a half years

its also why japan canceled their normal-length fireworks events and opted for short-length (5-7 minutes?) and more frequent unannounced events iirc
actually a pretty good idea for this

Help / Re: breaking the limit of setscale for playertypes

on top of this you can fix the scale by doing %player.scale = "correct size in x y z";

am i the only one who wants to know how he did that
when you mount a player to a bot then scale the bot or something the player can get scaled indefinitely with it. it'll have a broken hitbox but it looks big

then you just dismount like you're exiting a vehicle and boom, giant
did this not work?

seems a bit strange it's BL2 and BL1.5, but not BL1

General Discussion / Re: how many add-ons do you have
« on: May 30, 2020, 06:05:06 AM »
checking my really old copy of BL, about 1.5k zips
was mostly addons from 2008-2011 i think

on my development copies of BL i only sometimes have things like fillcan/duplicator

29
It doesn't include exactly 20 if you're going to be pedantic about it.
wouldn't that be "less than or greater than"? i read it as (less than (greater than 20))

and wouldn't be surprised if blockland's numbers picked up again a while after this incident is fully over

30
"less than greater than 20 servers" is logically equivalent to "there are any number of servers"
seems like a strange statement to make
