And now the debate has started on where Omicron came from. A few scientists have suggested that the variant came from rodents that were infected with covid back in 2020 and that the virus made the jump back to humans, which is why there are so many mutations to the virus and why it lacks some of the mutations that Delta has as it came from an earlier variant. Then we have other scientists saying that the virus must have come from a single immuno-compromised person and that vaccination will be the only way to end the pandemic, and pretty much dismissing the possiblity of a cross species infection being the source... Is it just me, or are some of these scientists beginning to sound like Jehovah's Witnesses? Only instead of them all being like "You need Jesus!" they're like "You need the vaccine!" No matter what evidence comes their way, their faith in the vaccine ending the pandemic does not waver, and if evidence comes along saying "Hey this may not work" like an infection that crossed species lines, they're like "Blasphemy! That contradicts our belief in the vaccine being an end game and will not be tolerated!"

Not tracking Wizard down when Diggy lost MetroRP when his computer died back in 2011. Backstory: Wizard was hosting MetroRP at the time, therefore had the only copy of the mod. Sure, I did end up tracking Wizard down in 2014, but it was really too late by then.

And if you want some spy kid info on how I managed to track Wizard down, I googled their AIM username, which linked to a forum profile on a different website, which then had a section listing people who visit that profile, which then had a profile with a username very similar to Wizard and bingo. Also, not possible to do now since AIM doesn't exist anymore and that stuff isn't displayed.

OT: is city rp actually fun? i've never played it, in the past when go to check it out i either get put off by huge file downloads or get overwhelmed by the amount of /help commands needed to understand how to actually play. i'd just wander around the map until i get shot and then leave the game. am i missing out on something?

I will say that a lot of old players played since the earlier days when it was still in the early stages. Was way simpler back then. All Jookia's CityRP had was 4 jobs, one type of lots, and only a bank and police station. Very little commands to learn and honestly much simpler. For instance, commands were as simple as /help jobs instead of /help list jobs that appeared in later mods. Easy to see why the gamemode has died over the years.

A DDoS attack doesn't stop the second you unplug your router, especially if the internet modem is still plugged in lol. Even then, they wouldn't stop attacking the second they lost connection. The whole point of an attack is to overwhelm your internet resulting in lost connection to begin with.

Next news topic. There's a new coronavirus variant that popped up this month in South Africa... Omicron variant. Potentially more dangerous than Delta with early evidence suggesting that it carries an increased risk of reinfection.

One thing I will say is I love how some news articles say "Kyle Rittenhouse found not guilty" and more blah blah blah info, but then say nothing about who he is or what he did, as if it was something that you were supposed to learn in school. The way I see it, if the news is too lazy to explain that, then this whole thing is clearly not important enough to even care about.

Who cares if it's nice... It's the law. The law isn't meant to be nice, it's meant to uphold the rules and keep order. Letting illegals walk into the country and get free citizenship is disrespectful to all the people who have come before and immigrated to the country legally. Not to mention illegals likely haven't been vaccinated for anything and that puts everybody else at risk of being exposed to diseases that have previously been eradicated in the US. Not saying travelers from abroad couldn't do that, but it still puts us at greater risk.
