They could right-click the desktop, > arrange icons by > [check/uncheck] show desktop icons.

It's what I do to hide that damn recycle bin, when I share my desktop.

I got this thing called a Realtek HD Audio Manager, that lets you add 23 different forms of echo, increase/decrease pitch, an equaliser, and more. It seemed to just show up after I plugged in my Plantronics GameCom 777 Surround Sound Gaming Headset.
