Talk about quarter-life crCIA.

Just wait until you start having to worry about university work, and then jobs, and then relationships, and then homelifes, and then children, and then grandchildren, and then oldage, and then dying.

You're closing in on adulthood! :D

I've had sort of similar things happen to me before.
It takes a little bit of charm, keeping calm, and delivering the work.
Usually, if you can get to the teacher who it was in to, prior to being told about this after school detention, then you can get away with it.
Otherwise, just go to it. It's only, what, a half hour, an hour?

If you've got the work anyway, and you're in the after school to do it, then maybe you can explain that you have it and you simply forgot.

General Discussion / Re: Do You Play Blockland Too Much?
« on: January 08, 2011, 11:11:33 AM »
I stopped playing it at a large extent about Haloween time, last year, which was when I got Minecraft.
I played that for a bit, still do, but again, not as much.
I went without playing it for a reasonable amount of time up until, around about the begining of my Christmas Break.
This was because I had a lot of courseworks and preparations for exams at school.
I've slowly been getting back into it. Usually only playing when I'm invited by someone else though, or if I'm quite bored.
So, I guess. I've certainly slowed down. I definitely don't play too much.
I've even lost track of the Version #s.

You know, if you listen closely to what teachers are saying, it makes a lot more sense and is much more reasonable.

I don't think there are many if any teachers that say flat out that Wikipedia is wrong- most (or most smart ones) will say that it's not acceptable as an academic source, meaning that because of the fact that it can be edited by anyone, it has the possibility of being wrong, and therefore it's not acceptable in formal research writing.
I agree with that, but it is when people (And I've heard teachers and students alike) say that you can't use Wikipedia at all for reliable information because anyone can change it.
They seem to notpay attention to the fact that the pages you're likely to research, especially the well-written ones, are either locked so only certain users can edit them, or they get checked and re-edited so fast everytime someone even tries to make a joke or put false information up.
The website is quite heavily moderated by people who see false edits.

Just take all that malarky with the Blockland Wiki Page, a fair while back as an example.
The page was edited a lot to fit in with guidelines and standards by a member of wikipedia who had never played Blockland. He didn't let any false information or un-cited information on that page.

Of course there is that risk of you going there the moment that someone has edited a page in an incorrect way, but it's much more likely than not that it's correct.
If anything, you shouldn't even use the internet for collecting such research, if you're scared of running the risk of crawling across false information.
Any website can have false information on it.
You're probably safer heading down to a Library, borrowing books (which are usually cited themselves) and researching from them.

Off Topic / Re: What would you call a good torture?
« on: January 07, 2011, 06:25:46 PM »
Play anything for anyone long enough and it's torture

as long as you want him to tell you something

or else you're just hurting him

...
Torture, according to the United Nations Convention Against Torture (an advisory measure of the UN General Assembly) is:

...any act by which severe pain or suffering, whether physical or mental, is intentionally inflicted on a person for such purposes as obtaining from him, or a third person, information or a confession, punishing him for an act he or a third person has committed or is suspected of having committed, or intimidating or coercing him or a third person, or for any reason based on discrimination of any kind, when such pain or suffering is inflicted by or at the instigation of or with the consent or acquiescence of a public official or other person acting in an official capacity. It does not include pain or suffering arising only from, inherent in, or incidental to, lawful sanctions. --UN Convention Against Torture

I don't think it has to be for the purpose of extracting information from a person, to be torture.
Inflicting pain on a person, for the reason of payback would be torture, too, so long as you're not killing him (not including the idea of inflicting so much damage that he dies)
Although, it does mention that it has to be sanctioned by a government.
Let's just agree that it's causing great pain and suffering to a person, without the intention to suddenly kill them.

Anyway, I reckon removal of all hair, then skin, then surgical removment of exterior organs (Eyes, Genitals) then removal of things like nails, and surgical removment of all body parts that can safely be removed without causing death.
Of course, when removing the skin, you'd probably have to leave sections be, lest they bleed to death.

And those saying don't bother with torture, just keep in mind this is a forum game.
It's a chance to let imagination run wild. Even if it is a gorey and brutal form of imagination.
If you don't want to imagine torturing a person, then just imagine an extremely painful act instead, and write about that.

I didn't mean it to be. And sorry if I'm just misunderstanding the context you're writing in.

i like how every sentence he does ends with three periods...
or a question mark?

But this didn't really deserve a drama.
I locked the topic because I was trying to get a point across but re-read what I wrote and decided it didn't really make sense.
I understand that you thought I wanted you to discuss my views but I tried explaining but to stop confusion I just locked it.

In situations like this, it's best to keep calm and move on.
Getting angry and typing in Caps Lock, will just server to make you a laughing stock on the server.
Don't give them the pleasure of it.

If they're going to destroy your stuff and threaten you, they're not worthy of having you on their server.
Find a better place.

He probably made a brickspam house.
That shouldn't matter if he was still building a house.
Even if it's lower quality than others, doesn't mean it should be remove from under the persons feet as they build it.
Usually when someone builds a proper thing, but spammily, they don't know anything otherwise.
I always wait for them to go, then grab a save, then remove it.
I grab the save incase they come back and want to carry on. I remove it so it's not in the way.

Enraging and destroying peoples builds permanently, while they're building it, just because they can't build very well, is not going to let them learn.

I'm pretty sure he'd have to have significant evidence for Badspot to revoke your key, or anything connected to it.

And even if he did contact Badspot, without any evidence, Badspot would probably tell him to take it to Drama.

If you've done nothing wrong, then you've nothing to worry about.

Drama / Re: "Magick" Mage; behind the alcohol, drugs and love orgies
« on: January 06, 2011, 03:15:32 PM »
I guess I talked to Oneo/Plaz the other day, He was in the 20k's building quite amazingly.
Not that I'm ID tribal, but I assumed he had another Id
"This is like my 8th id"
Or I thought he said that.
It's impossible to be ID tribal.
It's entirely possible to be prejudice though.

And no offence, either, but saying "He was in the 20k's building quite amazingly" is a sign of prejudice.
If you're not prejudice, you wouldn't mention it at all.
You can't claim to not be prejudice and then make note of someone not falling into a stereotype.

As far as I'm concerned, Mage is cool.
You can agree or disagree with him and his views as much as you like, just try not to be rude. It's not required when talking to anyone. And it's not nice to get rudeness thrown in your face.

As far as I'm concerned, Bisjac is cool.
He's a really interesting person, quite funny on the forums, and if you don't like him, fine, but it goes the same as the above.
Besides, this community would be dead boring if everyone had the exact same character. It's nice to have different members with different views, characters, styles and ideas.
I'd be bored in a world of Bisjac's and I'd be bored in a world of Mage's.

Is playing a game 12 hours every day considered religious?
Only if you worship it.

I personally think that Roblox/Blockland topics should just be kept out of the Off Topic section.

If you're saying one is better than the other, you'll just get insulted and it's a negative for everyone.
If you're trying to stop a "War", then you're actually only increasing the idea that there is a "war".
If you're simply trying to state an opinion on the games, even with considerable backup towards your opinions, you'll just end up with people again, insulting you.

It's not really worth it to even mention the games together.

Since this is here, though, I might as well voice my simple opinions.

I don't like the look of Roblox.
I'm not going to play a game I don't like the look of.
If any of the graphics seem crappy, or the modelling, then it's not for me. Unfortuantely, I found Roblox appeared that way to me.
I like how Blockland works and looks.
I don't know how Roblox works, but I don't like it's looks.

And there's no point saying "Don't judge a book by it's cover", because even if I do find the game is ok, I'm not going to play it because the images of it just make me cringe.

It's a game designers job to make me think the game looks good before I play it. You can't advertise with "It looks really terrible, but maybe if you give it a try, it will work out?"

« on: January 06, 2011, 02:27:46 PM »
A couple of days ago, I pulled an all-nighter then went to school.  Felt bad man.
I'd never do an all-nighter when I have school in the morning.
It's bad enough if I don't get to sleep until late at night, or if I end up having to get up much earlier than normal, because I need to do something before school that I forgot. (Like Coursework. :S I always leave it to the last minute, quite literally)
