General Discussion / Re: Talk about your avatars that you use for blockland
« on: December 23, 2010, 07:02:53 AM »
At first I thought this was going to be about your ingame avatar. :c

I use mine, because I enjoy the MetalSlug series, loved the martians and wanted one as an avatar.
Another forum member then started making flag avatars, so, I requested an England one and placed that under the Martian.
I asked for the England one, because: 1) I'm clearly English, 2) It was the time of the Football World Cup
And I like my patriotism. It's unfortuantely not as widespread in England as it is in America.

You have to be smart, or at least have average intelligence, to be a troll.
You can still be smart and idiotic.

Troll =/= Idiot.
I think generally, most Trolls are Idiots.
But not all Idiots are Trolls.

Off Topic / Re: How many fingers do you use to type?
« on: December 22, 2010, 08:28:50 PM »
I use all the fingers on my left hand, sharing the keyboard in half with the right hand.
The Left hands covers everything from G to the left, the Right covers everything from Y/B to the right.

My Left pinky finger, however, is only ever used for pressing the left Control and Shift.
On my Right hand, all but my Right Pinky is used. I think I find it too weak, if that sounds right.
I will sometimes use it to press the Enter button, but otherwise, I use the finger next to it for pretty much everything right of the Apostrophe Key.
Bare in mind, I use a laptop and have no numpad.
My PageUp/Down, Home, End and Delete key are on the furthest right hand side of the keyboard, with the Right Key at the bottom on the right.

The only time I slow down for typing is numbers, oddly, and sometimes the F# keys. Also, the Windows Key, but not the Alt keys.

Thumbs press space.

I don't know if the building itself is reminiscent of Tron, but I'm guessing it's mainly the glowing blue lines that make it look like Tron.
Wouldn't actually know as I haven't seen the movie.

I'm liking it very much though.
I love the curves on the underneath.

Off Topic / Re: Reflex Movements
« on: December 22, 2010, 08:16:02 PM »
I guess it is a reflex, but maybe it's not.
If I'm playing Guitar Hero, I start playing and watching the notes come down and hitting them on cue.
However, usually half way through, while still watching the screen, I start thinking about something else.
My focus completely drops from the game to whatever I'm thinking about and it'll do this for a fair while.
However, while I'm not focussing on the notes coming down or my fingers pressing the buttons, but still looking at the screen, my body continues to play the notes correctly.

It's actually at this moment where I get most of my streaks, when I blank out from the game.

Interestingly, I also do this while reading.
If I'm reading something and something happens or is said in the book, my mind starts to think about it and goes off to think about connected things.
However, my eyes still continue reading and my hands will even flip pages.
By the time I snap out of my thoughts and get back to the book, I can be pages on from where I was, not having a clue what I read.
But, all the time that I'm thinking, I have a very faint sense of the written words in my head as my subconcious continues reading.

Reflex, or just some short attention span?

Works fine for me.
Really? I got Service Unavailable too.

Try to recognize that we all have different skill levels in this game.  There is no need to criticize someone else's build simply because it's not the best build out there.

It's his Demo Build, he's entitled to post it here as much as anyone else is.

I'm liking it for a Demo Build.
It's actually odd, but I don't see many Demo builds that do encompass the use of events, even if they are simple.

He still pestered me for stuff, he may have wanted something out of you too.
He kept pestering me to host a Western Roleplay ingame.
Kept messaging me on pretty much every messaging system I had.
XFire, Forum PM's, Ingame, the moment I log into IRC, etc..

But, he may just have been friendly towards you.

I'm quite sharp.
I can't think of a pun.

No one ever said it was a rule.
what I said was from the Blockland Q&A, not a rule
I know. I got ahead of myself and didn't really think.
But it wasn't necesarry to say it, since he's not asking how to make Add-Ons, the two are just loosely related.
But, whatever. None of it's relevant now. Forget I mentioned it.

Whoops, Fireboy.

Because your mother dropped you when you were a baby.

Anyone that plays video games has reflexive movements. When you want to shoot, you don't think "Okay, now I need to press the mouse button.", you just do it.
My father doesn't do that though. It's almost embarassing watching him play a shoot 'em up.
In the middle of combat he has to stop and look down at his controller to find the right buttons. :s
Might have something to do with him being dyslexic and or other things going on in his brain.

Yet, he's oddly good at playing with the Wii, even on new games where he doesn't know how to move the controller in the way the game wants.
