Games / Re: Steam Thanksgiving Sale is on

Rise of Nations: Extended Edition, for myself and my friend, £3.75 (75% off) each.

We've been waiting for well over a year to get this now.
It was my favourite RTS and I kept going on about it while we were playing the likes of Age of Empires. But the price has been stupidly high for a long time, and I missed the last time it was on sale for a good price.

Unfortunately my friend happens to be in Denmark at the moment and not watching Steam, so I bought it for him just in case!

Also, is this called the Thanksgiving Sale for you guys in America, or are they also using "Exploration Sale" as its title, as they are for me?

Probably Cool Original, if not Tangy Cheese.

kinda kills the whole "Vault Tec + American consumerism parody" theme
I personally don't mind that too much, because the storyline of the games never really revolve around this.
It's just a theme in the background, an explanation for why America was like it was when the bombs fell.

Playing through the last three games, I've never felt that American Consumerism is a significant aspect of what I am seeing/doing at the time.
And as far as Vault-Tec goes, I feel like there's nothing new for me to discover. I enjoy Vault-Tec and the vaults, but I know their background, and that things weren't as they seem.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Chinese communist alternatives, which surely there were similarities.
Enough so to maintain the core gameplay and style we've been used to. Plus, there would be American aspects too, since they were in a war with each other, and Americans landed in China, and even took some cities prior to the bombs falling.

Except you forget about the existence of great aunts and great uncles. Then, those aunts and uncles would be cousins. It makes more sense to group all cousins together, since they are all members of the same extended family, yes?
No. Great aunts/uncles are not your cousins.
They are your great aunts/uncles.

Your Great Aunt is your parents Aunt.

Your cousin is only ever the child of your parents sibling, or the child of your grandparents sibling, or the child of your great-grandparents sibling, etc, etc...

The number of your cousin depends on how far back your shared grandparent is.
First cousin means you both share a grandparent - 1 generation ago. Your parents' parent.
Second cousin means you both share a great grandparent - 2 generations ago. Your grandparents' parent.
Third cousin means you both share a great great grandparent - 3 generations ago. Your great grandparent's parent.

Degrees of removal count the generation of children below that type of child. Meaning your first cousins child is your First Cousin, Once Removed. Their child is your First Cousin, Twice Removed

Your Aunt, your Great Aunt, you Great Great Aunt, are your parent/grandparent/great grandparents sibling. THEY ARE NOT their siblings child!
Therefore they cannot be your cousin, unless via inbreeding, or because your maternal/paternal families are married together twice.

It's also too big for TFD. Standard sprites are 8x8, or larger ones can be up to 10x10.

That is 9x13.

An uncle and an aunt are further classifications of cousin, correct?
No, not at all.

Here is how cousins work.

All black text is from your perspective.
All Red text is from your childs perspective.
All Orange text is from your grandchilds perspective.

For those curious, here is one possible way Derontchis hypothetical Cousin/Aunt could have existed, if they were inbred.

They would be your Aunt because they are your parents sibling's spouse.
They are also your cousin, because they are your parents siblings child, but also the child of the parent of that sibling.

She's my dad's sister in law.
But you also said she was your cousin.

She can't be both, unless she is also related by blood to one of your parents.

I've yet to find any power armour paint magazines.
I've not visited any of the locations with them.

Actually, on the magazine front, I've found very few in total, I think.
The only one I have a lot of is Astoundingly Awesome Tales, of which I've got about 8-9 of the 14 available.
Then I have 5 Covert Ops, and 4 Grognaks, and then a spattering of the others.

This is the only way I can work it out where you're not inbred.

Your Aunt/Cousin is the child of your mother's sibling.
So your dad's brother married your mom's niece.

Making them your Aunt via your Dad's brother's marriage, and your cousin, via your mom's sibling?

3779
An uncle is a parent's brother. An aunt is someone who marries that uncle. Or vice versa.
Okay, so she's not your parents sibling, but instead married to your parents sibling.

But she's still your cousin? A blood relative?
So she is still the granddaughter of one of your grandparents, provided you mean first cousin.
This still makes no sense.

I'm sure there is inbreeding going on here somewhere.
Could you draw me a family tree?

On helmets alone, T-45/60 is my favourite.

Seperate eye holes, rather than one long slit as in the T-51 makes all the difference.
