I've refained from insulting, but this is getting ridiculous, are you people braindead?

Representatives vote in the way that gets them re-elected, they don't have to care about the opinion of people who won't vote for them anyways or won't vote for their primary challengers.

Please look up on wikipedia how representative democracy works.

This is what I mean, if the civil rights movement didn't affect the opinions of the voters, nothing would've changed.

"I'm not biased I swear!" - nicepoint circa 2021

Democrats didn't try to overthrow a democratic election, they didn't give the rich massive taxcuts, they aren't hell bent on repealing the rights of LGBTQ people and they are the only ones trying to push for better healthcare, education and addressing climate change.

you can't change a system by participating directly in it. it just doesn't work like that. why "good cops" don't stay "good cops"

Indeed, which is why the civil rights movement implement policy through revolution apparently.

Since the civil war, all change has been implemented through democratic means and that is the system you need to act through.

How is this so hard to comprehend? The progressives within the party are not prevalent enough command the party line yet. To achieve that, they need to gain majority within the party. That cannot be achieved without winning primaries and general elections and winning becomes all the more unlikely if republicans gain control. And voting 3rd party is going to hand the country over to the republicans.

Bernie lost because the majority of Democratic voters believed that Biden would be more likely to win against Annoying Orange.

I know that the majority of the country agrees on the issues, but making change in the current system requires acting through one of the two parties.

Democrats are objectively better than the republicans, sorry pal.

if "leftists" do as you say and always vote for the democratic party, why would the party listen to their demands?

The party isn't affected by it's internal caucusses?

the democratic party has legislative power right now and they won't even pass voting rights legislation

The division within the party means the party is affected by it's internal caucusses?

The whole point is that democratic control provides the leftists a better environment to gain influence within the democratic party than under republican control, which would happen if leftists don't vote or vote third party.

This isn't about sucking the rooster of the democratic party, it's about changing the democratic party from within. If leftists vote for leftists in primaries, then that will be threat enough to the establishment. There are no other methods to make change.

I feel like you're describing both parties as static and malleable at the same time. Do you think that progressive democrats are part of this status quo? My argument is that corporate interest has a chokehold on corporate dems and "fascist" republicans, but also that the republicans have no portion of their party that is actually interested in addressing the 3 points you made. They are hyperfixated on culture war and worshipping Annoying Orange.

It is the same reason why I believe that any hope of change lies in the progressive left within the democratic party, seeing as they have already managed to push the whole party left and bring up important issues and solutions (medicare for all, green new deal).

Voting the lesser of two evils, especially when you are a leftist, is very important. The main enemy of the left is fascism, and allowing any victory to the republican party is going to damage the left's chances of gaining political power in the future. In addition, the current first-past-the-post election system is rigged against 3rd parties. Voting 3rd party or not voting at all are ineffective methods of making change.

Democratic supermajority only means that the caucusses in the party become the new parties.

Respond to my points.

Also, specify your statement on the cities so I'll know what statistics you're referring to.

This is decending into a no-you match about brainwashing. Democrats aren't good, I havent said they are. What I have said is that Democrats are better than Republicans, which is true due to the points I listed earlier.

Also:
Democrats =/= Biden

Comic doesn't make it true.

Either way, you don't seem interested in addressing my other points.

Saying that voting has been rigged since the electronic age doesn't make it true. Evidence please.

Democrats don't want to change curricula to censor the past.

One party seems more interested in getting the children out of cages than the other.

Neither party is good, but one is much better than the other.
