Off Topic / American Folk Legend, Pete Seeger Dies At 94
« on: January 28, 2014, 06:23:11 AM »
It is a tragic loss. Pete Seeger was a very influential singer and songwriter most known for his song "This Land is My Land", and numerous others. He marched with Martin Luther King, and got himself involved in many movements.

Rest in peace, Pete Seeger.

Off Topic / What is your deepest secret?
« on: January 27, 2014, 08:57:05 PM »
My deepest secret is that I have a bad speech impediment which makes me stutter, talk too quickly, and have a lisp. My other secret is that I'm actually an elk in a caribou disguise.

Off Topic / Sochi Mayor Says: "There are no gay people in the city"
« on: January 27, 2014, 12:30:43 PM »
I know you guys are all going to get a kick out of this. It really does seem to me like this guy cares more about gays in his city, rather than the terrorists threatening to bomb the Olympics in his city.

I know that Second Life, TF2, a few Valve games, and Gaia already have virtual economies but I'm looking for some more even ones which aren't so competitive. I'm mainly looking for indies though or newer games which have an E-economy. It can be any game, but please no fantasy RPG's, or FPS's.

Help / Whenever I launch Blockland, it keeps making me re-enter my key
« on: January 21, 2014, 09:17:24 AM »
It's really become a nuisance at this point. This started happening almost 6 days ago, and I don't know why!

Help would be appreciated! Thanks.

My favorite game-modes of 2012-2013 have to be DrenDran's farming game-mode, and Rising Lava. I also think that many more promising game-modes will gain a lot of momentum this year, such as: TheBlackParrot's Core Defense, and Kobble's Save The Princess game-mode.

Off Topic / New England Boy (17 years of age) Dies of Progeria
« on: January 14, 2014, 09:30:53 PM »
I was really sad when I was reading this, it's a shame to see how much a disease can do to one person. For all who don't know - Progeria is a rare, life threatening condition which causes you to look like you are much older than you actually are, and your organs may also function the way an elderly person's organs would. This boy wanted to study cell biology or genetics, and he was very ambitious.

Imagine what he could of become.

I think more people will begin to marry into other races and religions (which will result in more biracial people), majority of people in 1st world countries will be Atheist or Agnostic, bikes will be used more rather than cars to be more ecological and because of the soaring gas prices, poverty will go up by a much higher margin, the Internet may go through phases and play an even bigger role in daily life, technology will become everything in our daily lives, the amount of families will decrease, climate will be even warmer than it is now, North Korea could go to war with the South by then or even before, Scotland would no longer be a part of Great Britain, and so many other things I predict to happen in the next coming years.

I think it's exciting to think ahead. Who knows what the future brings!

General Discussion / Would it be possible to port Blockland to Unity?
« on: January 11, 2014, 07:04:39 PM »
Also how long do you think it would take for it to be ported? I have asked a few people, and most said more than 2 years.

For the past few months, Islamic Russian Chechen groups have been threatening to do something during this event. And they aren't bluffing either, considering 2 Self Delete attacks happened in a city only a few hundred miles away from Sochi on December 29th and 30th. 30+ people were killed in these attacks. Shockingly, the two Self Delete bombers were both Chechen.

Vladimir Putin (Russia's P.M) has said that there will be heavy security. Putin also assured the public that things wouldn't go wrong. A big amount of people are scared because of how close these attacks are to the Winter Olympics this year. Chechen rebel groups in Russia are stronger than ever.

Quite frankly, I'm excited to watch the Olympics and see how it rolls out. Hopefully, things don't turn sour though.

If you bought tickets to attend these Olympics, would you still attend? I wouldn't because of fear.

Games / Are you looking forward to any upcoming games for 2014?
« on: December 31, 2013, 03:48:09 PM »
I am! I'm looking forward to Stardew Valley: http://stardewvalley.net/

It's going to be an indie MMO with many retro feels from games like Harvest Moon. I'm mostly looking forward to new indies.

Usually my school starts back on January 3rd-5th. I know in the UK and different parts of the country, kids get much longer winter breaks, to say the least. This has been a rather short break for me.

When does your winter break finish?

Off Topic / A Chinese crime group on World of Warcraft faces jail time
« on: December 30, 2013, 07:12:06 PM »
I found this to be very interesting. Many people think that virtual property doesn't mean anything, so therefore you can scam it from somebody or steal it without punishment - but little do people know, it is punishable in several jurisdictions. I think virtual property should be regulated to a degree, because it isn't now.

I don't know why people go out of their way to do this.

Suggestions & Requests / Imagination Mode
« on: December 27, 2013, 11:30:00 PM »
Imagination Mode brings building to a newer level!

The basic concept of Imagination Mode:

You'd be able to build in a server anywhere you'd like without disrupting anyone else's playing or enjoyment. You could also build on anyone's build without them knowing! You wouldn't need anyone's trust either. All you would need to do is enable "Imagination Mode" on your options, and the server host would have to enable them on his or her server too. If you don't have this mode enabled on your options on a server which allows the mode, then you won't be able to see what is being built in this mode. I know this is a very odd idea, but I think it's pretty cool.

Thoughts, please!
