Lang Lang's interpretation of Gershwin makes me die inside.

Anyway, Horowitz was cool but he sorta went insane later in life and started sucking.

Horowitz was brilliant. Horowitz was always insane, he had such severe OCD. Wanna know what he did with his meals? He demanded his maids to get him fish imported from Russia, and he had that done. Fish was shipped to him from Russia almost every day, he was never healthy mentally. It didn't get in the way of his magnificent piano playing though, he also had a great sense of humor. Lang Lang tries too hard to be a pop star.

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you! A girl in my school who graduated has been flying planes since she was 16, and now she is going to university to study aeronautical engineering (she is a registered pilot right now, but she also wants to engineer and construct planes as well). Being a pilot is an exciting career, you'll enjoy it.

I love classical music, and I was basically brought up with it. Liszt and Verdi are my favorites, Verdi's music has a lot more emotion. Also, have any of you ever heard of Horowitz before? In my opinion, he was the greatest pianist of the 20th century. His fingers are just amazing, and I'm afraid that nothing can be compared to him. I used to think Lang Lang could top him, but he is now performing less and less in concerts.

I would add a new board where new users would introduce themselves.

My dream career is to be a demographer or real estate broker.

am I blind or does it not list how much it costs anywhere

It hasn't been stated yet if this will be free or not, but I have a feeling that it might not be. I hope it isn't too expensive though.

KoGaMa, it's a relatively new and free multiplayer sandbox but it isn't physics based so much, and it lacks features. If you join, add me on it! I'm Penguin on it.

i thought he meant he'd be a nice guy and only take action when it's needed and not looking for excuses to ban people

I did, and I'd also act as a role-model and responsibly. I wouldn't ban people for nothing or for non-appropriate amounts of times.

yeah i agree with shell

accepted on my part

Thank you!

Look, the lag yesterday and today was caused by a DDoS attack, not the number of players.
I bet that MonkeyFunky's server can hold 40+ players without lagging.

Is there any possible way that DDoS attacks can be prevented in the future?

Suggestions & Requests / A game-mode where you have to snipe people
« on: September 07, 2013, 04:52:23 PM »
It would have a map cycle. The point of the game-mode would be to have sneak attacks. It would be slower paced, and it would be different in comparison to your typical TDM.

About the map:

You'd basically be in an ancient Arab village, and the objective is to snipe your opponents from dozens of feet away either on rooftops, trenches, or in buildings/windows. The game-mode would have classes too, such as:

-Rebels
-Civilians
-Government Military Officers
-Threats (radicals/terrorists)

In the game-mode you'd spawn with snipers and land-mines. I said before, it's slow paced which means you don't just go and shoot others; it takes strategy, tactics, and logical thinking. In the game-mode there would also be a modification which would be available for others to download separately (it would be a GPS showing the map and where the nearest enemies are/if any enemies are around you in your area).

I think this is more of a request than an idea because I really want somebody to make this into the real thing.

If someone can turn my idea into a real game-mode, I'd be thrilled.

Chase Game (it's better than hide and seek).

I was just playing on Munkey's TF2 Fort server, and I was experiencing no lag, and I had 0 lag spikes. I think it's a first, even with 10 players I received no lag, Hammer your connection has definitely improved. HamHost has gotten a lot better.

I found this interesting work in progress on IndieDB, and I know a lot of you on the forum would be interested in playing because this is a sandbox. I first thought that this was just another Minecraft clone- well it isn't technically, it is solely about inventing and open-world building with few limitations. It's also to play around with physics too.

Quotes from the IndieDB page:

Brick Inventions is a physics based game. Basically, you have a large variety of different blocks which you can place in the world to build almost everything you can imagine. The game contains different game modes where you can build things or invent machines, master different challenges or play against other players in exciting multiplayer battles.

Singleplayer
In this mode there are levels with different kinds of challenges. Amongst others, these include building defences to avoid your crown from falling off the podium, shooting down target buildings or erecting high and stable buildings.

Sandbox
This mode is for everyone who just wants to build awesome stuff without having to care about enemies or things like that.

Inventor mode
This mode allows you to create and test your defences, weapons and machines. If you are happy with one of them, just save it and you will be able to place it in your single- or multiplayer-game with one click. The game automatically calculates how many materials you need.

Multiplayer
Brick Inventions also has a multiplayer mode to play against other players. Here you can use your buildings and machines created in Inventor mode or just build everything block by block. The basic concept of the multiplayer is that every player has a crown on a podium which he has to protect. To win the game you have to upgrade and protect your producers to generate materials which are needed to build things.

Brick Inventions would be the ideal game for someone who is very creative and who has many ideas for objects, figures, as well as contraptions.

I think Brick Inventions is just one of those indie games which will do well mainly because it's a sandbox focused on building.

The game's page on IndieDB: http://www.indiedb.com/games/brick-inventions

The developers Blogspot page which features developmental news for the entire game: http://brickinventions.blogspot.com/

It has no expected release date, but I talked to the developer and he just said "we will try our hardest to implement all the things needed for the game, and then release it when it is ready to be played by the public".
