A bit like a weather satellite.

From earth it's just a moving white dot in the night sky. It fires off iridium flares occasionally.

Sorry guys, that was just me testing my death ray. I tried to carve my initials in the sea floor but the satellite wasn't as accurate as I hoped.

With all due respect I beg to differ, it's quite clearly a large landmass with a clearly defined separation from the rest of the world by physical means: two large oceans on each side, the Rio Grande to the south, and Canada to the north. It is one large tectonic plate and undergoes tectonic shift as a continuous large mass. America is a continent.

I didn't see an "Other" option, so I'll just post mine here.

Yes, there is a way. You need to start a custom game instead of a quick game. The option is called starting era I believe. I'm not sure though because I don't usually do it, I like playing through all the eras. I've occasionally used a mod that adds more options to the menu to do stuff like start out in the industrial era in 4000bc, but I really don't use it much.

If I start on a higher era I feel like I've been "cheated" out of progress. I can get lots of big developed cities full of wonders if I start out from the beginning.

Try using the bb tag [tt ] text [/tt ] instead of code.

It displays your text in a font with fixed character widths so your ASCII art doesn't get skewed.
Edit: I believe this is called a monospaced font.

If you've ever played a puzzle map on hl2dm, the set up is great. There is a central lobby area with teleporters that took you to whatever puzzle you wanted. You could do one, all, or none, it was up to you. If you were stuck on the first, there was nothing to keep you from experiencing the other puzzles. There was also a freebuild place that was kind of like a proto-gmod where you could build stuff out of fences and barrels.

There was no requirement to get into the freebuild, and the only reward was the satisfaction of finishing ridiculously difficult puzzles.

If I ever make a challenge map, this is what it would be like.

Beyond the sword also allows you to pick any leader for any civilization. When I play with the option on, I usually play as Bismark leading the HRE.

An interior file cannot load textures outside of the folder it is in.
However, you can create maps that specify a model in another zip as the model for a particular interior. So if you place a bedroom and a kitchen in a map of yours (I don't know why you would), you do not need to include them in your map.

It's his framerate. He took the screenshot in fraps for some reason.
