Off Topic / Re: IF YOU BELIVE SANTA IS REAL then watch this.

All the beta testers have mod like abilities. I seen it when RTB was released. I downloaded it but then when looking back saw that the topic had been deleted. Then refreshed the page again and it was back. Ephi could delete topics. I also have the suspicion that he deleted one of my post.

The only ability we have is to delete our own posts. I guess if you delete the first post that made the topic, that would get rid of the topic too, but I haven't tried it.

You're mistaken about him deleting your post.

Typically the thread sinks out of site when everyone stops posting in it. It's self locking.

If you really want to lock it, there should be a lock button at the bottom of the thread. Yes, you can lock your own topics here. The games section might not let you do it though, I haven't posted a topic in here before so I'm not sure. But you can lock them in other sections.

General Discussion / Re: { ID List 4.0 }
« on: February 03, 2009, 05:51:36 PM »
I merged together these lists:
http://blockland.kalphiter.com/ID/find.php?mode=all&order=asc
http://zerosan.broatcast.de/blrs/?content=bl_id/list
http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=33266.0
http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=46513.0

And found several hundred you're missing. I don't know which they are though. I put them all in a text file.

The are formatted like this:
ID(INDENTATION)NAME

So if you want to put them in your list, you'll probably have to change the formatting.

It won't be difficult to maintain the list (today's cleanup took me around 20 seconds). But I'm considering allowing people with gmail accounts to help maintain the list.

All changes made to the form and spreadsheet are logged and archived, so if someone abuses my trust it so won't be hard for me to hunt them down.

A bot? Mistaking the form for a username and password entry and trying to crack someone's account? Lotto numbers maybe? I'll clear it out after this class ends.

Unfortunately, I can't limit the characters. Maybe I can block stuff on the spreadsheet.

Duplicate submissions should be okay, that way we can see all the names that ID uses.

I'll fix the order and delete mistakes tomorrow.

The system seems to be working pretty well, I was surprised at the rate stuff got added.

It should be fairly easy to grandfather in all the old data from previous lists. I'll have to do a little more work with excel and google docs to get it working.

Yeah, so I noticed it's already on 5.0 or whatever and still being updated by hand. Here's a lovely new test list using Google forms and spread sheets. It will automatically update with whatever you add in. I'll still have to take a look at the list every once to sort it numerically and delete entries where someone typed in "LOL" for the ID or whatever (since I can't make the field numerical characters only).

If you'd like to test it, here are the links:

The ID Submission Form
The ID List

Oh, and there's no girl or ban flags. I left them out because I personally think they're a load needless of bullstuff.

If you really want, version 2.0 of the form can feature radio buttons to select gender and a comment field.

Drama / Re: Idiot tactics: Desperation acts, patterns, how people "go out"

gobbles created a script that spammed randomly colored floating gates on RTB servers. Drama ensued on IRC and forums.

I just skip the welcome screen and end up right on my desktop.

I don't have anything to take a picture of, unless I start my system in safe mode. Then it displays Chris and administrator.

I have an old photobucket account somewhere full of RTB screenshots. I'd have to get the password from my aol account and I hate logging into aol mail, it's just loaded with advertisements and slow scripts.

I'm uploading all of my recent screenshots to a new account right now. I'll probably just go ahead and get my old account too while I wait for the 200 or so pictures to upload.

I saw it, but didn't include it because it was just people in a vehicle.

I've got bunches of shots like that too. Or I used to have them. One of these days I'll upload all my random screenshots.

By the way, I remember this! I posted the fail edit and then you made the awesome one.

Ouch:

I just punched in the default names of blockland screenshots (for example Blockland_00034.png) and viewed random pictures you uploaded.

I stopped around 60 or so. I probably skipped a few between 0 and 60.
