I thought about it some more. You should be able to get money for doing some combat related or neutral things as well. My first thought was healing people on your team with medkits. Engineers could remove enemy mines, walls, razor wire, etc for cash. You could sneak into the enemy base and steal all the national socialist gold.

Oh, and you wouldn't be limited to any "class." You could buy the mine removal kit, medkit package, and whatever else you wanted, as long as you are still within the 5 item limit.

And yeah, while technically a dm, I'm imagining something that kind of runs through a hot war/cold war periods. When people place down huge minefields, toxic gasses, whatever kind of crazy defenses they can come up with using events or someone is willing to script, it's more a of cold war style dm, based on building up your base and earning cash to arm your people, while people try and sneak into eachother's bases and steal gold or break down some defenses. When enough people get out in the field and take down enough of the defenses to the point where it's not worth building them anymore, the gameplay speeds up, more people get dragged onto the battlefield, and it becomes a hot war.

The problem is, once a cold war cycle lapses, you need to get people to settle down again to get back into the cold war cycle. Perhaps automatic mines could be deployed. Once you get settled down, you need to get people fighting each other again. Maybe an airstrike every hour or so could clear out all the defenses.

I've got an idea for a war driven economy.

Every person gets a number of ration tickets that can be spent on food, ammo, health, and whatever services people provide in the base.

There are three zones.

Zone 1: No man's land, anyone can build here, bricks blown up are gone forever.

Zone 2: Front lines, bricks take damage here and disappear for a while before respawning. Engineers on the front lines make the bricks reappear faster or die slower. There is no building at all.

Zone 3: Rear supply: This is your team's city. Food, health, and ammo can be bought here. Services (fast transportation, apartments, banking, whatever people sell) can be found here. Building here can be either approved by a grant by the elected general based on necessity, or can be purchased.

You get money for killing people. When they die, you also can pick up any money they drop, if you are fast enough. When you die, you drop any money you were carrying.

Ration tickets are given out based on time. You don't drop these, you can't earn them either. You can use them to purchase health, food and ammo. The ration tickets provide people with the resources to fight and even people who aren't good at fighting a chance to enjoy the game. Money works as a bonus for those who do well.

Just a basic outline. Feel free to pick it apart and expand on it.

Halloween was invented by Hallmark and Target, just like every other holiday.

Yeah, the whole City RP mod doesn't have a balanced economy, and really just serves as a mask for a glorified TDM. I'd rather use something else, but there isn't anything else.

"fig 6: Monkey Wrench and Pipe Wrench" - some plumbing website

The thing on the top is an adjustable wrench. The adjustable wrench is the successor to the monkey wrench.

The second picture is a monkey wrench.

Pipe wrenches have angled teeth to that give more traction when turning a pipe. Using a pipe wrench on a nut messes the nut up. Monkey wrenches have flat teeth that fit around a hex nut.

Therefore, the Blockland wrench is a monkey wrench. Unless you conclude that pipes in Blockland are shaped like hexagons as well (which they probably would), in which case a monkey wrench and a pipe wrench in the Blockland universe would look exactly the same.

The building is under construction, my architecture class went on a field trip to tour it and brought back pictures from floors still under construction. There are some really nice pictures of the Manhattan skyline.

Are we using some rp mod?

I like the idea of doing a World War II setting, set in Africa.

It's sandbox. Just sandbox. You people keep changing the wikipedia article so it doesn't say sandbox, or says sandbox in addition to some other stuff, which is really annoying, because it's just a sanbox game. Not a sandbox game that can be an rpg/racing/chat client/tetris clone/spreadsheet program/eggtimer, because the term SANDBOX already explains what it is well enough, and if people actually clicked the word sandbox, they'd know it too.

Your job is to write the next segment, only by next segment, I mean the one before it. It's like a continue this story, only I give you the ending and you have to work it back to the beginning. Have fun.

It had been long day in Soviet Karjakerstan. Jeff is getting to be home late. Into house he walks and sits on couch. Watch Jeff as he reads paper. He turns a page and it goes crinkle. After several minutes going by he puts paper down. Tonight is special night. State run television is very boring. Jeff thinks state is cheap. After all the work he do for party, they give him voucher for television. Big reward, to be getting television. But no! All TV has is state party propaganda he help right. Of course, Jeff never tell party that, no! He tells them he is very pleased with television. Color too, the party really does him much honor. But nevermind. Tonight, when it is very cold, and the clouds are just right, television signal from across ocean comes. He does not understand English, but those capitalists have some funny television! Oh ho he laugh, cannot wait for good show tonight!

Jeff get out of chair and turn on TV. There are no remotes in Soviet Karjakerstan. Channel 1, state news. Channel 2, state run culture! Jeff is not in mood for ballet tonight, although he won't tell party that, no. Now here comes the American channel! Bright colors and talking animals! Jeff has never seen such a sight before, not in Soviet Karjakerstan! All cartoons are drawn in socialist realism. Great leaders says talking animals is stupid! Americans lose space race because they watch too many talking animals instead of ballet and culture!

Jeff return to seat and begins laughing. Such fun.

(focus on TV)
