Mapping Help / Need help porting maps

Due to some problems I am having after updating Blockland, I am unable to port any of my maps to V9. I am wondering if anybody wants to help me port them? I am looking for people who know how to use the mission editor / terrain editor and are experienced with Blockland.

I mainly need help with applying textures to multiple terrain files, placing items with the mission editor, and solving problems with indirect file paths.

Help / Invalid Key after updating to V9

I just updated to V9, but for some reason after it finished installing the update it defaulted to demo-mode. I tried typing in my key, copying and pasting the key, and putting the key.dat file in my Blockland folder and it still doesn't work. Can anyone help please?

Mapping Help / Deleted Faces after compiling

I am almost finished with my New York City map, but I have run into a huge problem that I just can't seem to fix. Whenever I go to compile in QuArK, many random faces get deleted. I have tried using both the map2dif_DEBUG and map2dif_plus compiler, but the map2dif_DEBUG doesn't work at all. Is there a nother compiler I can use or a way to fix this? I tried searching google and yahoo and didn't find any beneficial results.

I have been working on a recreation of New York city for months now, experimenting with new ways to increase performance, and I need help testing my map for lag.  I need people who can also build as well; I'm going to include many brick saves with this map so I need experienced builders. I only want about 8 or so people to help test. Here is what the map looks like so far.



Does anyone want to help? If you do I will pm you with the files and the time I will host my server.

Drama / Everybody thinks I am an Impersonater

This is really getting annoying now. Everytime I host a server or join a server, people call me an impersonater just because my ID is in the 3000s. And supposidly, there is another GSFghost who is claiming to be me whos ID is in the 100s. Even when I say that my ID is on my Blockland profile on the forums and also in my San Andreas topic, they still think they are right.  I just got banned from the "[Inax] -/Portal Gun/- [Sekr]" server because the idiot admin thought I wasn't the real Ghost, without even asking.

Mapping Help / Strange problem when building

I have been working on a new lego city, as well as a map request that I'm not allowed to talk about yet, but I have been having some problems building on my city map. I had to shrink it in Quark, and resize it to 16 16 16 in game, but I'm not sure that would cause the problem.

Whenever I try to plant certain bricks (such as the vehicle brick) on the map, it gives me the error "stuck" or "float." Instead I have to plant another brick (such as the 2X4) and then put the brick I want over it. If I try to place the problem bricks on the terrain, they spawn, but are somewhat submerged. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Mapping Help / Problem with water when resizing terrain

I set the terrain square size in my map to 16, but I found out that this causes water to act weird; only random pieces show up. The terrain size has to be 16, so is there any way to fix this problem? Nothing I do works.

Mapping Help / Problem w/ Sunlight and loading map

For some reason my map stops loading when it comes to the lighting sequence, and then it just crashes. I think this is because my map is too big and it can't light it properly. But, when I try to resize it in QuArK, it says that some of the textures are too small or deformed, so I have to keep it at the size it is at.

I know for sure that it won't load because I tried taking out the code for the sun and it loaded, and when I added a sun and saved it, it wouldn't load. Is there any way to fix this? If anyone needs the map to find the problem I'll be glad to give it to them.

Mapping Help / Particle Emitters

I'm building a new map with the seperate Blockland MapEditor (because I'm still using the demo version for retail), and I'm wondering: How do I port emitters (like from rtb) into the seperate editor? I tried placing the files in myself but they don't show up in the Particle Emitter menu in F11.

This is the same editor that Badspot posted for us to use, however it doesn't work with the demo (Both retail blockland and the seperate map editor have the same file locations.)

Mapping Help / Problem converting Lego ViceCity to work in Retail

For some reason when I load my lego vicecity map in retail, the terrain appears light blue, instead of having the textures assigned to it. I copied the folder with my textures and the .ter file and put them in the right folders, so I don't know what could be causing this. This is what it looks like:



Does anyone know what could be causing this or how I can fix it? I have been having A LOT of problems getting this map to work, but this is the last thing I need to fix.
I am only using the demo of retail, so I don't have access to the terrain editor.
