Mapping Help / Need help porting maps
« on: September 06, 2008, 06:20:09 PM »
Due to some problems I am having after updating Blockland, I am unable to port any of my maps to V9. I am wondering if anybody wants to help me port them? I am looking for people who know how to use the mission editor / terrain editor and are experienced with Blockland.

I mainly need help with applying textures to multiple terrain files, placing items with the mission editor, and solving problems with indirect file paths.

I don't know if I'll be able to fix this problem after all; I have been trying for weeks but no one knows how to fix it or why this is happening. I tried everything I could think of today and I still can't fix it. It looks like my map making days are over, but I'll try to get some help porting the maps.

As soon as I fix some problems with Blockland I will port all of my maps to v9. I should have it fixed soon, hopefully.

Help / Re: Invalid Key after updating to V9
« on: September 06, 2008, 01:46:49 PM »
Sorry for the bump, but I still can't find a solution. I have found out that my error could be from:

    *  Someone is using my key from a different IP address
    * Someone is using my key from the same IP, but has changed the name on the account (from the main menu)
    * Internet failure
    * Network Access is Blocked

I am using both a pc and a laptop. I use the same key for my laptop which runs on the same IP address via wireless connection. I am also using the same name for both computers (however, I did try changing my name on my pc, but changed it back to my name so that shouldn't be an issue).

I do have two firewalls (one is McAfee), but I opened up the required ports and allowed access for the game. I have more than one version of Blockland installed on both computers (to test maps and such), but I don't see how that would cause a problem. If someone is using my key / ID from a different ip address, is there a way I can find out? Any help is appreciated.

Modification Help / Re: GSF San Andreas successfully ported!
« on: September 04, 2008, 03:28:12 PM »
I am unable to port the maps (because my invalid key error prevents me from using F11, which I need to add new content, update terrain textures, etc.), so I might just ask for help from the community. If you successfully port the map please send it to me and I will review it, and then I will post it giving you full credit for the port.

Help / Re: Invalid Key after updating to V9

Sorry for the bump but it still doesn't work, and I don't think I'm the only one with this problem. I entered my key and after the invalid key error came up again I hit retry and it authenticated my ID, but I am still in Demo mode. Here is a screenshot of the problem: http://img247.imageshack.us/my.php?image=errorsx6.jpg

Help / Invalid Key after updating to V9
« on: August 09, 2008, 12:38:46 PM »
I just updated to V9, but for some reason after it finished installing the update it defaulted to demo-mode. I tried typing in my key, copying and pasting the key, and putting the key.dat file in my Blockland folder and it still doesn't work. Can anyone help please?

Regardless of your views on religion, is anyone on my side here? This has gone far beyond rational debate.
I have been trying to avoid these debates because most of the people on this forum are too immature or stubborn (like Iban and CityOrian) to handle it, but I am definately on your side. Unfortunately, almost all of these discussions often derail from rational debate and lead to flame wars. I'm glad I'm not the only one standing up though.

IbanZ is being a handicap. If he went to school/work and shared his ideas about Christians, he would be shunned from socity.
That's probably why he uses this topic / the entire forum as his soap box. I thought he had changed after his last ban, but I think a perminent one is in order; and I'm not the only one who feels that way apparently. Not because he challenges religion in a logical manner, but because he can't seem to find truth in anything other than in his own beliefs, he can't post without cursing uncontrollably, and he constantly insults other people in a mature discussion.

I have no problem against religious people, but I dislike that when i say Im not religious, I always have yo hear your crap about it. You can insult atheists, but people cant insult you for believing in whatever religion you are.
I only bring it up when someone insults religion or just brings it up in a negative manner. People who speak negatively about religion influence other people. And those who are religious have no right to put down other beliefs. However, people make fun of religion - especially Christianity - a lot more than people realize, and we should atleast try maintain respect before it gets out of hand.

On topic: Even though war, to me, is just young people dieing because old people can't settle their differences, I support our troops. This woman is giving religious people a bad name.

I wouldn't keep poping-up if people would just keep an open mind to one of the two only non-manmade religions
Ghost, could you elaborate?
Sure, I don't want to get into another argument / flame war, but I'll elaborate.

Technically they were man made, but I mean that they were influenced by God, while the others were reactionary. Basically, Yahweh worked through Judah to create a culture which developed into the Jewish religion. Jesus came and brought about Christianity. In 67 A.D. Nero classified all Christians as Catholics. All of the religions afterwards were created because people chose not to believe in Christianity.

Reality transcends anything you can comprehend, anything I can comprehend and anything any human can comprehend. There are 12(count them 12) dimensions known, and we only understand 10 of them, the tenth being exactly like the first and at the same time massively different(it is all and at the same time nothing) the 11th and 12th are there, but we cant understand them. What you percieve as a reality within your mind may be different, but it is united by the fact that it all comes from the same out of body stimulation.
I thought there were only 10 dimensions, and the 10th is infinity? Perhaps 11 or 12 is a negative infinity? Such as like unconsciousness?
Another thing I find interesting is that we are capable of manipulating time. When we sleep and are not conscious of time, it speeds up. If reality is based on our mind, why are there limitations as to why we can't manipulate reality willingly - such as like you can in a lucid dream? This could also prove that there is a higher intelligence governing our limitations.

There's a whole stuffload of stories about "ghosts" "spirits" "apparitions".

It might be possible that there is an afterlife, but it could also be a load of crap.
I know a lot of people, including myself, who have seen ghosts. They prove that reality is actually fluid, and not as concrete as we thought. There are a lot of things which we don't understand, and what happens after death is one of those mysteries.

Wow, another debate which has skewed towards a flame of religion, atleast I'm not responcible for this one. The Bible can be used to justify almost any argument, but if you look up existentialism you can see there is more to the Bible than meets the "stubborn" eye. I wouldn't keep poping-up if people would just keep an open mind to one of the two only non-manmade religions.

As for the life after death debate, I believe that the energy in our bodies reunites with the infinite universal energy which we come from as we enter reality. Iban brought up a good point in terms of Metaphysical Subjectivism. Reality is just what we percieve it to be, and many people have been able to rise above it. Also, everything I have experienced in reality (mostly in terms of the 5 senses) I have also experienced in my dreams. So, reality is just a sophisticated dream, and I think the afterlife is the real reality. But, that's just my two cents.

Suggestions & Requests / Re: fish tank map

I would make the map, but I need someone who is experienced with modeling to make the fish model, and someone who is experienced with coding to apply the models to the bots and have them spawn when the missions loads.
