Drama / Re: The big word: Religion
« on: January 16, 2008, 05:27:30 PM »
The big bang theory is more plausible since it's largely based on scientific facts while Christianity is just based on other religions. I think that religion might provide metaphorical answers to philosophical and more abstract questions but I have little respect for anyone who blindly accepts as a fact that God created the world just because they have been taught to believe so.

When we are close minded, we tend to block out things that we don't believe.
Assuming that I am close minded just because I choose not to believe in an entity that I have never seen that operates outside the laws of nature is kind of arrogant, but please, do tell me about your divine encounters so I can block them out with my narrow mind.

And is it so foolish to believe in a higher meaning of reality?
It's foolish to believe in a higher meaning of reality just for the sake of it.

A final question to the christians here: How do you know that Christianity is the right approach? Other thesistic religions might as well be right, might they not? How can you be sure that the Christian way is the only right way?

Did it ever occur to you that God works through science? If God helps somebody, he doesn't shove a giant hand through the clouds, he acts in a way that can not be seen. He acts through nature. I would tell you about my "devine encounters," but you are just trying to make me look foolish so there would be no point. Although, tell me that you haven't heard of strange occurances: a child falling from a three story window onto the pavement and surving without any complications, a person somehow gaining the strength the lift a two ton car to save their son, a worker getting sucked into a jet engine and be able to climb out with minor damage. Did your science do that?

And why do you have little respect for people who believe in God? What did we do to you? You blindly accept that he doesn't exist because that is the way you were raised. So how does that make you different from us, if that logic is to be believed? It is a fact that when truth is recognized, competition is created. Everyone believes in reality because they experience it thorugh their senses, but nobody can prove that reality exists outside of our minds. But, go ahead and don't believe in God just because you can't sense him.

God didn't give science. Man made science. God doesn't exist.

If "God" gave us science, why is there evidence of his existance? Why hasn't one who was given this gift been able to find proof of the creator of science?

Think about it. Science has always been here. God only exists in the minds of those who are ignorant enough to believe in such foolishness.
Being a Christian myself, I have wondered about this question, but now I have an answer. Evidence of God hasn't been found because God doesn't want to be proven though science. He only wants people to choose to believe in him through pure faith alone. If you believe in him without doubt, then you will see proof of his existance. When we are close minded, we tend to block out things that we don't believe. I myself have seen a couple of things that can't be explained, but only after I began to believe. And is it so foolish to believe in a higher meaning of reality? I say that the foolish ones are the people who are too ignorant to have an open mind.

Hey Sneak, I've also seen you in some servers, mostly the ones running San Andreas. Welcome to the forums

Thanks Bisjac and Spation. And thank you Chait for unbanning me, although I could of sworn it was Inaxio. Since the ban is resolved, I'll lock this topic.

No because they saw another GSFghost before me who convinced them he was real. Him having a low ID is just the icing on the cake. When they see a second GSFghost (with a high ID or not), they automatically think he's fake. And I don't really care why they ban me, I just want it to stop.

I'm not being banned because of my high ID, it's because people think that I'm an imposter. Badspot already knows about the "banning high IDs for now reason" problem and if it gets worse he said that he will take action, I just want people to know I'm the real GSFghost or atleast give me a chance to prove it.

I found out it was Inaxio. And there shouldn't be consequences to getting retail late. It's that attitude that makes the experience bad for us decent members with high IDs. Thank you for contributing to the stupid.

This is really getting annoying now. Everytime I host a server or join a server, people call me an impersonater just because my ID is in the 3000s. And supposidly, there is another GSFghost who is claiming to be me whos ID is in the 100s. Even when I say that my ID is on my Blockland profile on the forums and also in my San Andreas topic, they still think they are right.  I just got banned from the "[Inax] -/Portal Gun/- [Sekr]" server because the idiot admin thought I wasn't the real Ghost, without even asking.

I can make some maps if you want that take advantage of the portal and gravity gun. Will the portals use momentum or be different from Aloshi's in any way?

Mapping Help / Strange problem when building
« on: November 24, 2007, 01:06:48 PM »
I have been working on a new lego city, as well as a map request that I'm not allowed to talk about yet, but I have been having some problems building on my city map. I had to shrink it in Quark, and resize it to 16 16 16 in game, but I'm not sure that would cause the problem.

Whenever I try to plant certain bricks (such as the vehicle brick) on the map, it gives me the error "stuck" or "float." Instead I have to plant another brick (such as the 2X4) and then put the brick I want over it. If I try to place the problem bricks on the terrain, they spawn, but are somewhat submerged. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Mapping Help / Re: Problem with water when resizing terrain

:(
Oh well, I'll just make the water have a completely transparent texture and apply a negative-scalled .dts object over it with the water texture. Hopefully that will work.

Mapping Help / Problem with water when resizing terrain
« on: November 17, 2007, 01:10:39 AM »
I set the terrain square size in my map to 16, but I found out that this causes water to act weird; only random pieces show up. The terrain size has to be 16, so is there any way to fix this problem? Nothing I do works.

Mapping Help / Re: Problem w/ Sunlight and loading map

I am going to cancel this project because I am having WAY to many problems with it, if anyone wants the files they can have them. And if anybody can get it to load again, then they can build upon it.
But, I'm going to start a new project which I think will be even better.

I only have the demo though, so I can't use the misson editor. The only way I can put stuff in the map is by coding it into the mission file. But, all of the codes I have tried don't work, which is weird.

I decided to use the particles that you apply with the wrench and just place some bricks around with the emitters added to them.
All I need is the codes though, if someone can post all the codes (for the mission file) needed to make custom emitters appear in game that would help a lot, and I'll work on the placement, textures, etc.
