General Discussion / Meow's Gambling Addiction Simulator
« on: August 24, 2016, 09:14:56 PM »
Don't have anything better to do than play slots with imaginary coins that don't equate to anything?
How about you gamble in Blockland against your friends and see who can get the most points!

There are three slot themes currently: Blockland, Borderlands, and Classic.
(Sorry about the slot brick models, I threw that together in only a few minutes)

You'll need to download the client add-on for the GUI if you want to play.

General Discussion / [Utility] Advanced Server Manager
« on: May 13, 2016, 04:53:14 PM »
I got tired of having to go in-game to change a lot of Blockland's server settings when I wanted to host a dedicated server.
So I made a nice GUI program so you can change many things outside of Blockland!

Initial Release v0.9.4 (Bug Fixes)
Features
  • Launch dedicated Blockland server and see output
  • Select multiple parameters to launch the server with
  • View all players currently in server
  • Change enabled add-ons
  • Change enabled music
  • Edit admins and super admins
  • Edit banlist (currently only when the server is running)
  • Edit basic server preferences while the server is running
  • Change server colorset
  • Scan your add-ons folder for CrapOns
  • Easily enable Zeblote's server crash fix

Please report bugs!
I'm sure this release will not be perfect, but it shouldn't destroy anything.

This is an executable, but I have provided all of the source code on GitHub so you may compile it yourself if you so wish.

Have the "MSVCP140.dll is missing" error?
Download and install the "Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2015" from Microsoft here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145
You only need to download vcredist_x86.exe for this application.

Hope this helps some of you.

Add-Ons / 360 degree view
« on: January 06, 2015, 03:53:29 PM »
Have fun tripping out.
I'm sure some of you will have fun with this, felt like I shouldn't just let is rot in my config folder.

Keybinds to show/hide 360 are in your options.

Problems with the add-on:
  • Super lowered performance :D
  • Crosshair is does not appear (it's behind the 360 view)
  • Sun flares are big (Don't think I can ever fix that)
  • You might get sick (gg)
Issue not listed here? Tell me and I might fix it.

Have fun~

Add-Ons / Teamspeak Integration
« on: May 14, 2014, 05:41:31 PM »

Well I made an Add-on that talks to Teamspeak and tells you when someone is talking and puts Teamspeak chat into Blockland's chat system.

There are small boxes that are on the right side and go from the bottom of the screen to the top

Teamspeak chat is shown as such

A small GUI thingy is added to the main menu

If the add-on successfully connects to your Teamspeak client it shows "Connected"
If it failed to connect it will show "Failed, try again" and then change to "Connect"
Click "Connect" and the script will try to connect to your Teamspeak client.

I shouldn't have to say this but you need to have Teamspeak installed on your computer.
Also make sure you have ClientQuery enabled in your Plug-ins, it's enabled by default.

Download

If you don't have a Teamspeak server to connect to, feel free to connect to: blockland.teamspeak3.com

Modification Help / [Resource] Rot.js Digger Dungeon Generator
« on: September 25, 2013, 06:38:37 PM »
So I ported the Rot.js Digger Dungeon generator over to Torquescript.
https://github.com/ZSNO/Rot.tqs_Dungeon
Use it however you like, but if you do please gimme credit for the port.

Execute map.cs to load all scripts.

To initialize RotMap for generating call
Code: [Select]
RotMap.call(width,height);Then call
Code: [Select]
RotMap.create();For a pretty dungeon to be outputted to your console.

The map is stored via
Code: [Select]
RotMap.map.m[x,y]so if you want to access them use that syntax

The doors between features are stored in each room's data.
So you can basically get to them by going through
Code: [Select]
RotMap.rooms.r[room number].doors.getObject(door number);(I'm too lazy to convert rooms to a simgroup so get the count of rooms by using rooms.count)
Rooms start at 1 and go up, e.g. r1, r2, r3 . . .
The door coords are stored via .x and .y
EX:
Code: [Select]
%x = RotMap.rooms.r[1].doors.getObject(0).x;
You can stop it from echoing the map to console by deleting line #82 in digger.cs
Code: [Select]
dumpMapToConsole();
Btw all the map data is deleted by the end of the .create(); function, so get all the data you wanted by then.

If you need any further explanation on anything, please ask.

Also yes I know somethings could probably have been done in a better way.
Feel free to fix it up if you want.

Games / Steam Databases Hacked
« on: November 10, 2011, 04:54:25 PM »
I just quit Garry's mod and this update news window came up
Quote from: Steam Update News
November 10th, 2011
Dear Steam Users and Steam Forum Users:

Our Steam forums were defaced on the evening of Sunday, November 6. We began investigating and found that the intrusion goes beyond the Steam forums.

We learned that intruders obtained access to a Steam database in addition to the forums. This database contained information including user names, hashed and salted passwords, game purchases, email addresses, billing addresses and encrypted credit card information. We do not have evidence that encrypted credit card numbers or personally identifying information were taken by the intruders, or that the protection on credit card numbers or passwords was cracked. We are still investigating.

We don’t have evidence of credit card misuse at this time. Nonetheless you should watch your credit card activity and statements closely.

While we only know of a few forum accounts that have been compromised, all forum users will be required to change their passwords the next time they login. If you have used your Steam forum password on other accounts you should change those passwords as well.

We do not know of any compromised Steam accounts, so we are not planning to force a change of Steam account passwords (which are separate from forum passwords). However, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to change that as well, especially if it is the same as your Steam forum account password.

We will reopen the forums as soon as we can.

I am truly sorry this happened, and I apologize for the inconvenience.

Gabe.
Anyone have anymore info on this?

So after I made my 360 view for Blockland, I found a site where you can upload those images and it makes it into a 3D space. :P
Anyway I could make a virtual tour of the whole city if I wanted :D
Also the quality sucks because you can only take HUD shots with it.
(Tip: don't look up)

Off Topic / My School almost blew up today.
« on: May 24, 2011, 03:14:37 PM »
Well someone last night got into our school last night and turned on a natural gas valve, leading to a large build up of gas. The person got in because someone unlatched the window from the inside, probably before they left the school. Sooo in the morning our principal apparently didn't think it was that big of a threat until like 5 mins into the day when we evacuated. So basically I had to spend two hours in a parking lot while police and firemen where doing stuff and lifting prints. When we got back inside the kids who had the teacher anytime of the day had to answer a written paper, this was most defiantly to get prints.

It was clearly intentional, either as a senior prank or otherwise and if/when they find them, they are going to be charged with terrorism. So basically if there was any fire at all we all could have died :(

no tl;dr for you.

Yes I know Off-Topic is your favorite blog.
