Something good to practice on is making zig zag corridors or otherwise round corridors, also make it enclosed. If you can do these easily then you'll have less problems in the future with curved objects.

These sort of videos don't really blow me away at all, infact I just do a quite bit of math in my head about these types of things every week or so because I have nothing better to do.
