Modification Help / Problem with pickaxe model (from blender to blockland)

I'm sure it's a simple fix and a common problem, but I just can't seem to figure out what I've done wrong.
Heres what happens (I've tried to fix it myself to no avail)
and heres two .blend files where I tried to fix things.

I tried to use search but I don't really know what error I'm looking for.
-I also noticed a face that's invisible, but I know how to fix that.

It's not user friendly anymore, it wont EVER play hd videos for me because it thinks my internet is too slow (which it is far from) and every time I start a video it plays in not 240p, but 144p and I have to change it every time.
Has anybody else noticed how stuffty youtube has gotten in the last few years? Seriously, I loving hate it :l

Mine were age of empires II, age of mythology, the movies, zoo tycoon, the sims.. I'm trying to figure out if there were any more I can't remember because I played a lot of games :o

Modification Help / Making a weapon do a random amount of damage between to numbers

I'm trying to edit the sword for my RPG. I want to make it so on each hit, a random amount of damage between say.. 1 and 7 is done. That is all. All help appreciated.

I have to make a circuit in my engineering class so I can have a motor with variable speed.
I know how to connect a motor, but how do I connect it so I can change the speed in which the motor spins? I know I need to use a variable resistor but don't really know how to connect it. Ideally, you'll draw me a circuit diagram, but thats asking a lot.

Off Topic / If I moved to America, which state is the best for me?

I am in love with cold weather. I function so damn well in snowy weather and I love skiing, but I do like warm weather as well. I'd also like a place where I could live in peace with my marijuana plants, without fear of incarceration if I get caught.
So which state or area is the best for me? Because I loving hate Ireland and I want out as soon as I can.

Off Topic / Fights. (update on my story)

Yeah, usually I try as hard as I can to stay out of them, but sometimes you can't do stuff about them and just have to fight your way out of the situation.
Yesterday, I went to a disco, and some loving cunt decided to punch me in the face while I was sitting down chatting to some girl. His reason being "you looked at me funny". Of course, I retaliated, punched him about six times right to the ground, when his dumb monday friend came over and tried to fight me more. He missed every punch. I ended up having my shoe fall off, so I calmly put it back on and strolled out of the building. (Like a boss)
Basically, it makes me angry to see drunk 15 year olds start fights they're never going to win, and I want to hear your experiences with fighting.

Yeah, and on an update, they messaged my friend who stuck up for me and said they're going to come to his house. The scary part is they know exactly where he lives as well, which is forgeted up because we had never even seen these people before last night. Luckily most people we know from around the place are on our side, but still. If these guys actually come in on saturday.. I'm just going to say that I'm the youngest and weakest in my group almost. And I still beat these guys up. They will get hurt if they're not careful.
So now I'm left with the option of either teaching them a lesson the hard way or making myself seem like a pusillanimous individual so they wont hurt themselves. It's a tough one. (they're so dumb and stubborn that they'll probably come into my town anyways. Their loss..)
