Games / Guild Wars 2 Decision between classes.

Okay, so I am freaking out about GW2 as you all know.
I have a character on GW1, whom I wish to remake in GW2
He was a W/R (Warrior/ranger, Dual-class system). In GW2, I can't loving choose which class of the two to make him.
(GW2 eliminates dual class system) I want to stay loyal to the pet he had (loving moa birds FTW), but then again, I wanna be a warrior.
Rangers in GW2 get greatswords, swords n other melee stuff as well as Warriors, but I want a melee class with a pet :3 Moa berdz loel.
So which one, guys, Ranger or Warrior? No poll, I need you to post your reasons/opinions on your choice.
