I'm not too keen on hosting private "RTB Premium" servers. I don't think how much money you're willing to pay should define who you get to play with.

As for payment options - I think I'll go with PayPal and Amazon as the two options. I will also accept the delivery of live farm animals as payment if PayPal or Amazon are not possible.

I just want to stress this is just a survey of the general attitude towards the idea. It's not guaranteed to ever happen and it certainly wouldn't happen any time soon. I'd like the new website to be finished first etc.

It's good to see people are positive about the idea though. If you have any ideas for other things we could offer to premium users then feel free to suggest, as long as it doesn't detract from an already existing feature.

It's not a case of needing the money - I'm very happy to keep paying $100 until forever but it's still worth seeing if people would be interested in helping with the bill. More moneys = better servers = cooler features.

Not donating at all won't mean you're missing out on anything. Sure you'll have less space to store files (and you probably won't be able to store the screenshots for them) but you're still getting the most important bit which is the actual storage of your saves.

There wouldn't be a different version of RTB for premium users. All the exclusive things are things I can control access to on our servers. For example I just allocate more storage space to premium users for saves, or grant someone the privilege to create a new room on RTB Connect.

I wouldn't want to be limiting people's ability to use features within RTB - that's not the idea at all. I want people to be able to enjoy it to the max regardless of whether they've chosen to donate or not.

I wouldn't expect people to pay $20 for those extra features ... I think it'd be a one time of $5 or $10 maximum. Although we could have even bigger badges for people who choose to offer more. I'm just throwing ideas around here.

The thing about single/monthly payments is the disk space increase is something that costs us monthly. So if you pay $5 for the increase, we then have to cover the costs you incur on that new space forever more. Whereas it might make sense to charge like $2 a month so that this is always covered.

But then the issue with monthly payments is that they suck generally, and it's much more of a hassle to deal with. I think I'd like to go with a one-time payment too but possibly an option to subscribe with EVEN MORE features. Beats me, I'll see what other people thing.

I've been thinking about offering a premium RTB service either for a single one-time fee or a subscription and it'd be good to get some discussion going on whether this would be worth the effort or not.

It costs me in the realm of $100 to host the RTB servers for a month at the moment, which obviously doesn't come out of nowhere. With some of the upcoming features (such as the ability to store all your saves/screenshots on our servers) this cost is likely to rise with the increase in disk space it could consume.

The RTB service would be free to use as normal and you'd still be able to do everything you've always been able to. Subscribing/buying the premium service could entitle you to:

• A cool badge to show off to all your friends
• Priority access to beta releases
• More storage space to keep your save files/screenshots on RTB
• Ability to create a chat room on RTB Connect for your clan/whatever

Obviously all the revenue would go straight to covering server costs. I can't see us ever making a profit. Feel free to discuss what you think could be included as part of the premium service, or whether you think it's a terrible idea entirely! Keep in mind though that the idea behind this is to reduce the cost of our hosting fees - not to profit from.

I may disllow the editing of files post-approval in the next revision of the system so you are forced to update each time you make a change. I think any change you make should be pushed out to all users and it makes no sense to have files of the same version but with different content floating around. It defeats the purpose of a version control system entirely.

As for version numbers - it makes things a load less complicated to just go up one version number each time. I can't see any reason to change this. All it would signal is how major/minor the update is but that's irrelevant since people don't get a choice about whether they update or not.

Correct. I only look into alt accounts when someone is behaving like an utter douchebag out of nowhere. It's the best indicator.
