Well, I did save a lot of money in some places. He was trying to flog me some Alienware 3D monitor which was £200 more than the one I picked. I don't need that 3D stuff anyway.

i almost CANT stop using newegg now. ive gotten so many computers and parts for myself and the group i work with, that i have built up nearly 12k in credit on the site now.
i cant really shop around anymore.

Yeah we don't get Newegg in the UK and I just like the no-hassle of prebuilts. I'm a big dell fan and the Inspiron range (which I usually buy) doesn't really have the specs I need to play games. This is like my first desktop too - I usually buy laptops.

The only quibble I have is the Windows 7 Professional.  What are you planning on doing that you couldn't do in Home Premium?

It was only like £30 more which is nothing compared to the £1700 so I figured I'd just roll with it. It usually makes things less basic and exposes more options to you by default, I think. There were differences between Xp Home and Pro which I hated so I'm just going with pro again.

And, although this is my opinion, I think 9GB is a bit overkill.  I applaud the use of triple-channel RAM, but 6GB is more than enough.  i7s tend to have this sweet spot at 3x2GB, so, save yourself the money and go with 6GB at 1333Mhz, or don't save yourself the money and upgrade to 6GB at 1600Mhz or something like that.

Would there be a big difference between 1333 and 1600? I am in no way a computer person - I have no idea what any of this does, the Dell salesperson just told me everything was good.

There is nothing to discuss and/or debate. You're defending a kid that's taking things for granted. Screw it, I give up arguing about it.

Er hi, I'm pretty sure you take running water or electricity for granted.

I'm arguing for the sake of arguing, he's complaining for the sake of complaining, and you're ignoring every question I asked you for the sake of ignoring every question I asked you.

We're all even, good day sir.

He's complaining for the sake of getting something off his chest which he's annoyed about. You'll find this is done quite commonly and is quite acceptable. You're then jumping in and telling him how wrong he is and ranting about kids in poor countries. I'm ignoring one of your questions because I'm just trying to keep the discussion relevant and not split into some long discussion about African kids.

This isn't a "competition" and it'd be nice if you could just treat this as a debate instead of something you can win or lose, while trying to "call it a draw and walk away".

And f you are, please tell me what justifies his bitching. Its not like school is even hard. He's just being lazy.

Well now you're just being ignorant. I had the same feeling when I had to go back to school after a long break so I get why he's complaining. I think you're just being argumentative for the sake of it now. People can complain about whatever they want - the person who should be justifying their actions is you for criticizing who gets to complain about what.

I would rather go to school than not. It gives me something to do.

That makes sense for some, but for me it was a case of school getting in the way of what I wanted to learn by myself which I figured would be more instrumental to my success.

I dont get it. Where is the proof that this is an adult.

Given that he hasn't ventured into Drama/Off Topic once, it's reasonably safe to say he isn't one of the run-of-the-mill trolls we get around here. They're attracted to drama like flies to crap.

Wow get over it.

There's kids in poor countries that would give anything to go to school, and you have to be a whiny little bitch and complain about it.

The whole "poor children in africa" argument is so pathetic. I hope you're atleast sending monthly donations if you're going to be playing that card.

Furthermore I bet they'd get sick of the stuff you guys have to learn in school pretty fast. Education in poor countries is actually functional and useful in their everyday lives.

Well its possible to an extent... but I don't think people would like it if every person who used RTB sent data abou tthe serve rthey are in.

I've considered it but the processing involved trying to corroborate all the data from all the different players isn't really feasible. RTB relies on the server partially not trying to lie about who's on it and clients are significantly more prone to screwing around.

« on: April 04, 2010, 07:52:14 PM »
that's an RTB thing RTB puts the hosts name on every server even if they have already put the name on it

so in other words "Flying Ace's city build", would become "Flying Ace's Flying Ace's city build"

That's nothing to do with RTB.

Your problem for trolling me; it is naturally only my duty to react.

Yeah, I change opinions oh so frequently. Ignoring people is the way to go.

I am against you because you are using "gay" as an insult. If you had a good friend or family member who was gay, would you still be a prat and call them gay as an insult?

Lawl. People who get offended by others using "cigarette" and "gay" as insults are so dull. Way to be sensitive about your loveuality.

Is is true, Ephi, that you can view an RTB enabled server's chat even though you aren't currently on it?

Nope, there's no chat logging or relaying of any kind.

It's only towards me because they think it somehow hurts me. I mean, lol, ignore them. Half the people who are using gay as an insult are gay.

Yeah guys, just ignore them lawl.

Ephi, can you make server information still possible in a non-RTB server in v4? Like, just shows the players on the info gui?

How is RTB going to know what players are on a server if the server doesn't have RTB telling people who's on it?
