Which also contradicts you last point, he didn't finish college until after he made Microsoft, yet look where he is now, certainly not a grocery store worker.

I was actually being sarcastic to prove how university isn't actually a necessity. Way to prove my point though. Furthermore I beat 12 people with university computer science degrees into my current job which pays more than my parents and I haven't even been to university.

You'll find that experience in the industry is far more valuable than some flashy bachelors university degree.

He was trying to find out what this variable was, I told him how he could do it. He can then put this to use in later cases.
Er, you told him to run a trace and because there is no onDeath or onExplode for debris it wouldn't have helped at all.

Then you come up with this crap trying to prove me wrong. So what if I was wrong? You learn something everyday, I am still learning C++ and I am still going to continue to learn, I'm even going to do go to Uni and study Computer Science (To which I have Blockland to thank) because I don't know everything. And as much as you like to think you do, you do not either.
Maybe the fact that you tried so pathetically hard to prove yourself right?

I like how you said you're "even going to go to Uni" even though its something thats practically expected of you in order to not wind up with some crappy minimum-wage job at the local grocery store. Well I'm sure you'll be the next Bill Gates anyway - did you know he went to uni and did computer science too?!

You do if you're coding on an old compiler.

Haha, Still stubborn as an ass. Show me something that says this is the case because I have never heard this before ever. Infact no, you're an idiot. That is most blatantly not the case at all because a variable name is just an identifier for a value or memory location and any code that relies on you matching the parameters in a function call to the function definition itself cannot be a mainstream programming language.

@Muffinmix: You also can't spawn explosions like that - they won't be networked so only the host will be able to see them. You need to create a projectile with a lifetime of 0 and an explodeOnDeath or something.

Since Debris isn't actually a real world object (just a client-side rendering i think) and isn't networked, it doesn't have an object ID and therefore won't have any object-specific callbacks. So no, you can't do anything when a debris thing explodes.

Modern compilers will correct it for you.

Er, never heard of this - also its not something the programmer has to be aware of and is therefore not a requirement.

It does in C++, if you're trying to pre-define a function.

No, you dont have to match up the parameters in a function call with the variable names in the function header itself. For someone who "moved onto bigger and better things" you're still stunningly stupid.

I'm in a pickle, could someone help me out?

Ahaha he heard you. Its like the loving bat signal!

Variable names don't matter in Torque, you can just do onDeath(%cake, %fruit, %cheese);

Just to prove you wrong "for old time's sake" parameter names don't matter in any language as far as I know. Oh and I just realised how pointless and stupid your suggestion was. Haha for that.

Try onExplode

Whoops wasn't thinking. Since Debris isn't actually a real world object (just a client-side rendering i think) and isn't networked, it doesn't have an object ID and therefore won't have any object-specific callbacks. So no, you can't do anything when a debris thing explodes.

:O

Well today at lunch i sat with her, and she kept pretending to dump water on my head, and licking Ritz crackers in my face. By the way, She hangs out with the smart/unnatractive people D: And i just learned my Friend D stole the girl i liked before, M. And i was the one who intruduced them. D:

Finally, Nearly asked her today, but i don't know haow to ask her out.

I mean Fo' Realz', I can't think of a smooth way to ask her out, because of all the popular Whores & cigarettes that make fun of people. Right now, i have a pretty good Rep, And i don't want to ask her out, as i found out about eight other girls like me.
Also "S" has a dad with no hand. :O

Does he have a hook instead? If not he's really uncool. When you get the opportunity to be more of a pirate than anyone else, it'd be really stuffty to pass it up.

Raycasts are apparently semi-broken and tend to randomly go straight through objects for no detectable reason. We encountered this problem in a multiplayer test server I hosted it on multiple times where one person could repeatedly fire at another person and have the raycast pass straight through the target and hit the object behind. Until thats fixed (which will be never) the raycast sniper is simply a great source of frustration and "omg hes hacking" for anyone who's that stupid.
